If the person being thus queried does not know the ritual (and so replies in the negative), the querent will remark ""He's an awfully nice fellow, but he never remembers to pass the port"". TIME-HONOURED skills, craftsmanship and dedication are handed down from generation to generation at GRAHAM’S in the form of three unique arts – the art of blending, the art of cooperage and the art of ageing – to produce an extraordinary selection of Tawny Ports. Currently, Graham’s is the only British Port company that is run independently under one family's control.

Deliveries to Jersey, Channel Islands, The Isle of Man, The Isle of Wight, The Scilly Isles and some areas of Scotland may take longer and are subject to a surcharge.Composed of wines put aside generations ago, this is an incredible wine with an amazingly long finish, indicating both its age and immense quality. In the United States, the Portuguese product, by Federal law pursuant to a treaty with Portugal, must be labelled ""Porto"" or ""Vinho do Porto"" for differentiation. Golden amber, with a pale green tinge at the rim, denoting great age; Very complex with a powerful fragrance that expresses its age; An array of flavours, from delicate fruit and raisins, to toasted toffee and chocolate, with an outstanding aftertaste; Fabulous accompaniment to dark chocolate, but can also be enjoyed on its own: an experience in itself.

The decision to declare a vintage is made by each individual port house, and is based on several factors, most notably the weather and the ability of the marketplace to absorb a new vintage. Vintage ports are aged in barrels for a maximum of 2 years before bottling, and often require another 5 to 15 years of aging in the bottle before reaching what is considered proper drinking age. This 40 Year Old certainly does no disservice to that reputation and shows an amazing intensity and complexity of flavours over a palate where the sweetness, flavour characteristics, tannins, and acidity are in perfect balance. Graham’s 40 Year Old Tawny shows golden amber in colour, with a pale green tinge at the rim, denoting great age.A Golden amber colour, Grahams 40 Year Old Tawny Port has a pale green tinge at the rim, which comes with a great age. There may be extra charges for some postcodes including but not limited to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, and British overseas territories. All of Graham’s Tawny Ports have their own individual characteristics, the complex flavours and aromas that pervade each of these unique wines have been developed through selecting only our top quality wines from Graham’s four spectacular Quinta’s in the Douro Valley to age in seasoned oak casks in our 1890 Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia.
