Description

With a maximum weight capacity of 250lbs, it competes in the top range of Door Pull Up Bars and can be used for virtually every Calisthenics exercise you can do with a “normal” Pull Up Bar. The only limiting factor being the two hand-sized handles and the ways you can grip them. The handles themselves are comfortable enough for extended use. The main attraction here is of course its dimensions. With measurements of 12” x 10” x 4¾” they take up virtually no space at all. I recommend using a regular overhand grip with your thumb wrapped around the bar, but if you want to build a specific variation of grip strength then you're going to benefit most by using that exact grip when hitting your dead hangs. You'll Build Beastly Forearms A pull up bar is very adaptive and will work your muscles in a way that is hard to replicate with the standard machines and weights one can find in a gym. Gravity Fitness has become renowned for producing top-quality pull-up bars that not only last the distance but yield next-level results. The latest drop in our pull-up bar range is no different but this time we’re taking jaw-to-the-floor pull-up performance to the…... door.

Gravity Fitness Pull Up Bar Review - Calisthenics Worldwide

PULLUP & DIP’s Portable Pull Up Bar Buy direct from www.pullup-dip.com and get 10% off using code calisthenics-101 The most radical difference in shaping between the two bars lies as the bottom, the base. Whereas the Gravity Fitness rests flush with the floor, the Pull-Up Mate arcs up, giving it a couple of more inches in height and, of course gives you the option to use them as push-up bars. At the same time, they also present a potential liability for tripping and falling over.

Where should you put a pull-up bar?

Once you've found your max dead hang time I recommend performing 3 - 4 dead hangs 2 - 3 times per week at between 50% - 75% of your max time.

Is the Best Portable Pull Up Bar? - Calisthenics 101 What Is the Best Portable Pull Up Bar? - Calisthenics 101

Find a solid door frame with flat faces that are wide enough to accommodate the rubber ends of the bar. In this guide, we mostly talk about portable free standing pull up bars compared to ones that wrap around a tree or fit inside a doorway. It's common to automatically try and engage your lats if you were going to perform a pull-up when you're hanging from the bar... but don't! It can be screwed in place, which increases the maximum load it can take, but I preferred to use the removable method. I found it left a light indent on wallpaper, so there’s a chance it’ll leave minor marks on your doorframe, although that may just be the price you have to pay for a secure bar and I found this bar reassuringly stable.
