I'll admit, if you let the scent sit on you for a while, a few serviceable impressions come through. The whole thing reminds me of something like mixing together a bad copy of Zino and a botched clone of Armani's Code with some sweaty notes. What I'm about to write, I mean entirely without irony or malice: Ralph's Club has an appealing harmony of slight sweetness and some astringency in conjunction with the lavender Surrugat in a relatively short window of time. Overall, however, it falls far short. Ralph Lauren is an iconic designer known for defining American style through his mens and womens fashions, home furnishings, accessories and fragrances. L’oreal must drop some note off as If this follows the note breakdown it must be something more aromatic-woody. Think something like the original RC with the sparkling “apple” top note of Y EDP, and the lavender/sage/vetiver combo intertwining with an “amber woods” musky marine base, kinda like what they’ve been doing with the Polo Blue flankers. It's not super unique, but it's complex, refined, and smells *really* good--soft but masculine and vaguely mysterious. Whenever I smell it I think of Batman for some reason. It's a *great* scent.

The initial spritz is a whirlwind of spice and fruit; apple and mandarin add a slightly sharp feel amongst the warm and spicy cardamom top note. The fragrance settles into a sophisticated heart of lavender, clary sage and geranium. These notes create a fresh herbaceous feel that can only be detected with a deep inhale of the scent at first, but they build as the fragrance settles. The result? A scent that’s like a breath of fresh air in a forest. That’s bubble gum remind me of Y-EDP, but I can’t wear Y-EDP as middle mode turn weirdly bad on me… so this would make great alternative choice. The way they layers smell is also quite similar to Scandal pour Homme too. This to me feels like they took the original and added more layers to it. The original was very much aromatic and woody and so is Parfum, but the aromatic side in parfum is more nuanced and its woodiness feels a bit different. There's also a soft dose of something sweet which really makes it a lot more likable and appealing.

To me this doesn't smell that much like Y Le Parfum, which has a much more distinct sweet grapefruit note at the top that I don't care for. This is much smoother and more balanced. Silage-wise it is not in the same ball-park as Eros or my other favorite blue, Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP. It's decent though. It would make a great casual, office, or date scent. If you're looking for something to assault other people's senses and draws in compliments (aren't we all?), this may not be strong enough for you. With enough sprays it still may be a club contender, unfortunately I don't have enough in my sample to test this out. I was in close proximity to a handful of people I know and a handful of people I didn't. No one mentioned the fragrance. I loved this one from the first smell. It smells great after the dry-down as well, instead of just being a great opening and then being blah. In fact, I think it's better after some time. It also lasts longer than some may give it credit for, in my experience people seem to smell it much longer than the person wearing it. I'll be sure to post more later today or tomorrow, with my updated opinion after re-applying it at lunch and making it through the rest of the work day.
