Description

The Skywatcher Evostar-90 AZ3 is a great refractor telescope, suitable for a wide range of abilities and budgets. This scope comes with two different lenses to observe sky objects at different depths. It has a long focal length, and can gather 65% more light than a standard 70mm model, which will give you clear images. It’s ideal for detailed views of the moon, as well as other objects in the solar system. An Alt-Azimuth mount is included, which is high quality and offers stability and strength for good viewing. What I like about it: A great many would-be astronomers never reach their dreams, because they get frustrated and give up too soon, before they have even learned the basics of the night sky. It was nice to find the telescope well-collimated out of the box. If yours isn’t, there’s a good tutorial on collimating the telescope in the manual.

I’ve summarized the features and specifications of the Sky-Watcher Explorer 130 telescope in the table below. Aperture size The Explorer-130PS is supplied with 25mm and 10mm eyepieces providing magnifications of 26x and 65x respectively. Eyepieces: Attached with the Sky-Watcher 130m are two Kellner eyepieces and a Barlow lens. One of the eyepieces supplied has a focal length of 25mm, and the other 10mm.Since we’re talking about setting up the scope, let’s talk about the weight and how it may affect setting up. The telescope, when coupled, weighs 27.8 lbs or 12.6kg. It also has a tube length of over 900mm. It’s not exactly a portable telescope for traveling. The Sky-Watcher EXPLORER range are standard Newtonian reflectors of excellent quality and versatility, ranging in aperture from a respectable 130mm to an incredible light-gulping 300mm aperture, catering for astronomers of all levels. Whether your interest is Deep-Sky, the Moon and Planets, or a combination of both, the EXPLORER range offers excellent all round Diffraction-Limited performance With 900mm focal length it is easier to get higher magnifications which are needed to view the planets well, this version is better for planetary observation than the shorter P model but has a physically longer tube.

And if you want to take pictures of what you’re seeing with your camera phone, there’s a built-in eyepiece shutter release cable so all you need to do is plug in any standard USB cable (not included) and press the button on top of it. Your phone will be able to capture images through the eyepiece without having to remove it from its holder! Takeaway: The Sky-Watcher Explorer 130m telescope is the perfect choice for any budding astronomer on a budgetSky-Watcher Explorer-130M (EQ2) 130mm (5.1") f/900 Motorised Newtonian Reflector Telescope. The Sky-Watcher EXPLORER range are standard Newtonian reflectors of excellent quality and versatility, ranging in aperture from a respectable 130mm to an incredible light-gulping 300mm aperture, catering for astronomers of all levels. Whether your interest is Deep-, the Moon and Planets, or a combination of both, the EXPLORER range offers excellent all round Diffraction-Limited performance. Tube material : Aluminium. Adjustments in both altazimuth (AZ) and equatorial (EQ) modes are smooth and it’s easy to keep objects centred in the field of view. If you throw yourself in at the deep end, and expect to seeing deep space nebulae and close up views of Saturn’s rings on your first excursion, you too may end up disappointed!
