No deep fryer or fancy equipment required. All you need is a large pot for the oil, a sturdy piping bag, and a star tip. Once the dough is ready, just pipe the churros right into the oil and fry away. Step 1: Heat the oil. Do this first to save time. Fill a large pan or pot with your frying oil and heat it to 365-375°F. (I like to use a dutch oven or a saute pan with high sides when frying churros.) For disposable piping bags, place the piping tip of your choice into the bag, letting it fall as far to the tip as it can go. This will determine where you need to snip. If using a coupler, snip the bag to fit the size of the coupler's base. Leaving the batter to cool down before adding the eggs is very important. This time allows the churro dough to cool down so that the eggs don’t accidentally cook when you’re mixing them in one by one.

We allow a 14-day period for any unwanted goods to be returned to us in their original condition. This is in line with all domestic web or telesales policies.I haven’t tested out this specific recipe for baking, so try at your own risk. If you do bake them, leave a comment below and let me know how it turned out! Storing, freezing, and reheating I used a combination of digestive biscuits and ginger nut biscuits for the base, if you want to omit the ginger then you can use all digestive biscuits. Or if you want a stronger ginger hit, use all ginger nut biscuits. You could even add some ground ginger to the biscuit crumbs if you're a big ginger fan!

If you are using a coupler, remove the ring and insert the larger piece into the piping bag and push to the end. For this tutorial, however, I used my Dreamy Vanilla Buttercream recipe. It's the perfect buttercream for cake decorating, because not only does it pipe beautifully, but it is a crusting buttercream which means it will hold its shape in warm weather, so there's no need to worry about your beautiful designs melting off. You will also need a decorating bag or disposable piping bags and piping tips. If you plan on using different tips on a cake or cupcake, I recommend using a coupler, which allows you to remove one decorating tip and replace it with another. The grass tip is one of the most popular in this category and can be used to pipe grass and fur, like these Easter Egg Cupcakes or this Fluffy Bunny Cake. The basketweave tip, which has both a flat and serrated side, is great for adding texture to the sides of your cake, like in this Floral Basketweave Cake. Eggs– Some churro recipes don’t use eggs, but I think they’re necessary for rich and fluffy churros. This recipe moves fast. Before making the dough, get your plate with paper towels ready as well as your cinnamon sugar. But don’t stress — here’s a handy visual guide to each type of piping tip.
