Wormell describes the dragon's bad deeds, but the kidnapping and human sacrifice is shown rather than told. However the dragon has a deep, dark, secret – he's afraid of mice. When George pays a visit – the dragon promptly runs away and George is celebrated for defeating the dragon. His most recent book is The Big Ugly Monster and the Little Stone Rabbit, published in the UK by Jonathan Cape in 2004. Christopher Wormell was born in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, in 1955. On leaving school in 1973 he studied painting with his father while working at numerous temporary of part time jobs.
