If you just want a standard multi-cooker that can pressure cook and slow cook as well steam and sauté, then this product offers many more functions than you’ll use, so it's best avoided. During pressure cooking the handles all stay cool to touch and the sides only reach 111oF/ 44oC, but the metal section of the lid reaches 205oF/ 96 oC, so it’s worth wearing oven gloves when removing it. I think I’ll go with the Duo Crisp because I like that I’ll still be able to use my old Duo inner pot (never needed handles before!

Our go-to recipe – sweet-potato fries – was ready in 15 minutes instead of the usual 20, and they cooked evenly all the way through. Admittedly, most people won’t use most functions – we mainly use sauté, pressure cook, air fry and grill – but the choice is there when you need it.

Another useful feature is that, rather than manually opening the steam vent after pressure cooking, you have the option of choosing “natural”, “pulse” or “quick release”, using the control panel. But it does do a nice job off getting a chicken that has that nice golden finish without being over browned because it is under the air fryer for less time.
