The only issue I found with the CR1U is that the front fan conflicts with my tall RAM module, so I had to offset the height of the front fan by mounting it about 1.5cm higher (which looked weird and probably affected cooling performance). The Freezer 34 CO differs from the Freezer 34 only by the addition of a high-precision and extremely durable dual ball bearing, which was specially developed for continuous operation. The build quality of the cooler is really purely function oriented. The endings of the heatpipes at the top of the fin bundle are not covered in any way and the manufacturer’s logo is subtly embossed into the upper fin of the heatsink. Mounting of the fan is performed by means of clips, which are inserted into small holes through the bundle of fins. Therefore, there is no bending or abrasion of the edges of the fins when installing the fan, but the clips are unfortunately quite soft and easily deformed. Here I would appreciate the use of better quality metal that would hold its shape better. Something else to consider in this formula as well, and that is the noise coming from the fans when accomplishing thermal improvement. To gain a degree, usually sound levels have to climb, or a larger fan is used while maintaining similar values. However, Somehow, ARCTIC was able to do both at once, lower the temperature, and lower the noise levels.

ARCTIC today introduced the new Freezer 34 air cooler series. Development of the new Freezer series focused on increasing cooling capacity. With static pressure optimized P-fans and the improved heatsink, the Freezer 34 series offers high quality products with high-powered performance. The series consists of the standard Freezer 34 model; the Freezer 34 CO, a new tower CPU cooler; the Freezer 34 eSports; and the Freezer 34 eSports DUO. The Freezer 34 coolers come with all the perks of ARCTIC’s high static pressure P-fans: an extended shelf life, a wide RPM range, lower power consumption, high quality bearings and less vibration. Plus, when the PWM signal falls below 5%, the passive 0 dB mode is activated. I use Shinetsu X-23 TIM and once applied to the heatsink (one line on each heat pipe), it was installed. I then fitted my pair of Noctua NF12 fans (hassle free). TBH, the end result is not the prettiest sight but in this case, I care more about cooling performance rather than aesthetics (as this cooler utilises a single heatsink and not two). While many may balk at the single-degree performance gains over the predecessor, it is more about what coolers it is directly competing with. While the thermal results may look bad on the chart as they tend to fall to the bottom, but when you look deeper and see the Freezer 34 eSports DUO competing with AIOs at a third the cost, it changes one's perspective. With newly developed fans, a streamlined cooling fin design, and offset direct-touch heatpipes that distribute heat more efficiently, the Freezer 34 delivers robust cooling for high-end processors with up to 18 cores. During internal testing, at a normalized 28db(A) noise level, the Freezer 34 models achieved results up to 4° C cooler than their predecessor series.Step 4. Now that I worked out how to install the air cooler, it was a breeze installing it in my pc case (Phanteks Enthoo Primo). A lot of folks said you need to take your mobo out of the case when installing this air cooler, otherwise it is a massive headache. In my experience, this was not true because I did a dry run installation and my pc case has huge internal space. The first step was to see if my Noctua fans would fit on the AF heatsink. Lo and behold it does and it is compatible with the fan mounting springs supplied by AF. Once there, we see the fans are rated for 67.56CFM with 2.75mmH20 of pressure per fan, at maximum RPM. As for noise, the tower is rated at 0.5 Sone, which translates to roughly 25 or 26 dB(A). Looking at the fans specifications chart, ARTIC says there that they are rated at 28 dB(A). The last thing to mention, and an important note to many potential customers, is the mention of the ten-year warranty, which is one of the best in the game right now. To conclude, I have used Arctic Freezer air coolers before and I thought the AF-A30 was a good air cooler which I used on my old AM3+/FX8350 rig, but this AF34ESD is in a league of it's own, as my modified version can take down big boy, dual heatsink air coolers. Honestly, AF have done an amazing job with this one. I am going to keep this air cooler due to the amazing cooling performance AND it also has a 10 years warranty.

The choice of fans has changed from the Freezer 33 to Freezer 34. Rather than opting to keep the 1800 RPM BioniX F120 fans, for the Freezer 34 eSports DUO, we see ARCTIC moved to a higher speed, BioniX P120 fans to flank this tower. Each fan is capable of speeds ranging from 200 to 2100 RPM this time, but all of the technical specs need to be found in the case fan category, by finding the BioniX P120 fans. Arctic has long focused primarily on the production of affordable coolers. Freezer 34 should be just one such cooler. At an affordable price, it boasts of a solid TDP rating (150 W) and also promises quiet operation. I’ve had it in my wishlist for a long time, but only now have I managed to get one piece for testing. So I’m wondering if it really lives up to its reputation that precedes it. Key features of the cooler The AF34-esport duo comes with two bionix fans (67.5cfm each, so total 135cfm). However, out of curiosity I decided to forego the bionix fans and instead opted to use my spare Noctua NF12 industrial fans (3k-rpm and 110cfm each so total of 220cfm).
