The Dream Hunters is an illustrated prose novella and has also been adapted into a graphic novel by P. No, it's not for everyone, but if you like fantasy and horror, there is a good chance you'll like this.

I wince and squirm every time I read the diner scenes, but Dream and the fairies watching A Midsummer Night's Dream makes up for that. No complaining about squinting this time, at least until it got to the teeny tiny font they used for all of the extras at the back of the book, I guess you can't have everything.

He almost never wavered from his original intention and was able to put into print what he intended to publish. Bound in faux leather and with glossy pages, bookmark ribbons and beautifully designed hardcover slipcases, these are tomes the quality of which would make wizards and priests envious.

But I think that most people, even completely healthy and hale people, couldn't possibly read this without a table. These stories still have the power to captivate, and I make it my business to enjoy them once a year or so. The one about the man who didn't want to die and would keep meeting Dream every 100 years at the same spot is brilliant. I know each volume contains something extra that the ten standard collections do not, so this is surely the ultimate treasure for any fan of The Endless. In this, he was encouraged by his editor, Karen Berger, who seems not only to have given him an amazing amount of freedom but positively demanded that he take it and run with it wherever the fancy took him.They play out their adventures mostly in contemporary settings that have been completely recolored for the first of four Absolute volumes that will re-present them all.

I don't think Dream Country is Gaiman's strongest short story sequence, but Dream of a Thousand Cats has always been one of my favorites, and it’s fun seeing the seeds about Orpheus planted so early [8-10/10]. The final part of the book is dedicated to the making-of the comic, and is really an excellent read.

Sandman" is fantastic, quite different from what I got used from a comic book (and it must have been quite ground-breaking at the time it came out).
