Description

The earplugs are made of polyurethane foam. The “latex” in our foam earplugs is not natural latex, it is a synthetic latex technically called an emulsion polymer. It has the same properties as latex (water based, adhesive, etc.) but does not have the enzyme problem associated with natural latex. Are there any additional application tips to help me get an airtight / watertight seal with the earplugs? Pre-moulded silicone earplugs: probably the most common type of swimming earplug, these gain points for being durable. However, some people find that the non-customised fit means they have a tendency to fall out of their ears.

After trying various types and sizes of earplugs, these Slim Fit soft foam ear plugs are the only ones I found that I could wear all night without any pain from the plugs being too large, AND without the plugs popping out halfway through the night. But they are still easy to remove in the morning. Finally I can sleep comfortably all night without being woken up by my noisy upstairs neighbors. Definitely consider giving these a try if you have the problems I did – with plugs falling out or being too tight! Foam earplugs: these are cheap but not particularly effective at keeping water out of your ears. For this reason, our list doesn’t include any of this variety. If, in the extremely rare instance you should experience any type of rash or skin irritation while using this product, please discontinue use immediately. Consult your doctor or go to your local medical emergency room if you believe you require immediate medical attention. Are the moldable silicone earplugs safe to use for flying discomfort? If so, when and how do I use them? The more often you’re in the water, the more chance there is of getting swimmer’s ear. And if you’re training for an upcoming event, the last thing you want to be worrying about is pain and irritation. What kinds or earplugs are available?

If you are having trouble getting the plug to seal, re-insert and wiggle stem while gently pushing plug to form an airtight seal. If you are having trouble inserting the plug, try pointing the tip of the plug slightly forward, toward face, during insertion. There are generally three different kinds of earplugs you can get, but when it comes to swimming, only two fit the bill.Yes. The earplugs can be cleaned with mild soap and warm water. Dry thoroughly before re-inserting into ear canal. Remove earplug slowly with twisting motion to gradually break the seal. Due to the excellent seal characteristics, rapid removal may damage eardrum. Do not pull cord to remove from ear. Do not push earplug into ear so far that you are unable to easily grasp the stem with thumb and forefinger. Remove cord from earplugs (with firm tug) before using for water activities or where there is a risk that it may get caught up during use. Do not use for sleeping. Use only as directed. We recommend wearing the earplugs the entire flight, up until the airplane has landed and the cabin has been depressurized. Yes, these dual-purpose earplugs are designed to provide both noise and water protection. Remove the cord from the earplugs (with firm tug) before using for water activities or where there is a risk that the cord may get caught up during use. Do not use these earplugs for sleeping. Use only as directed. Push and twist plug into ear to form an airtight seal. Be careful not to push plug in too far that you are unable to easily grasp it with thumb and forefinger.

After a doctor inserts ear tubes, is it O.K. to use a flanged style earplug like this to keep out water, thus helping prevent infection? To remove, grasp earplug stem with thumb and forefinger and remove slowly with a twisting motion to gradually break the seal. No. These earplugs were specifically designed to provide superior water protection. That is not to say that they cannot be used for noise protection, but the product does not currently carry a Noise Reduction Rating, nor does it make any claims that it is designed to be used for hearing protection.Absolutely not. The earplugs may become slightly more pliable when exposed to warm temperatures, but never viscous. Each batch of material is stability tested in our lab at over 350 degrees F. (The typical temperature for a hot tub and sauna is 104 degrees F and 170 degrees F respectively.) To date, not a single test has shown positive results for melting or shape transformation (instability).
