Micro Set and Micro Sol are two distinct but complementary decal setting solutions produced by Microscale Industries. After all painting has been finished it is best to give the model a gloss varnish before applying decals. This has three distinct advantages, firstly it helps protect the paint scheme already applied. Secondly, most gloss varnishes will attempt to 'Self-level' on the surface of the model which allows for better adhesion of decals and finally, gloss varnishes help to hide any transparent carrier film of the decal on the surface of the model. While the water is being absorbed on kitchen roll, add a few drops of Micro Set to the model where the decal is to be placed. Micro set contains a wetting agent which removes any unwanted residue from the area. It also helps the decals glue to form a harder bond. After the decals have dried out you can gently clean off any residue witha damp cloth and then either apply another gloss coat to seal them in, or your choice of top coat varnish for the end sheen you want. Micro-set® MSD2 has been tested by a UKAS Accredited independent testing laboratory using certified measuring equipment traceable to UK national standards. Repeated testing (on detectors randomly selected from separate batches) shows all results fall within a peak to peak spread of 0.01mm - we have added 2x safety factor for additional confidence.

Allow 45 seconds to dry before applying Microsol directly onto the decal, then remove excess water with a paper towel.

Working life and curing times vary with temperature – higher temperatures decrease working life and cure, lower temperatures increase working life and cure. Once completely dry take a clean wet paintbrush and wash over the decal to remove any excess glue as sometimes a small residue is left.
