Because Ibuleve Maximum Strength is delivered through the skin, directly over the painful area, there is less risk of the complications that sometimes occur when ibuprofen (or a similar anti-inflammatory painkiller) is taken by mouth. However, in rare cases you may be at risk: Do not use Ibuprofen Pain Relief Gel Maximum Strength: • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients in this product listed ; • if you are asthmatic, or suffer from rhinitis (allergic runny nose) or urticaria (hives) and have ever had a bad reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs in the past; • if you are pregnant or breast-feeding; • on broken, damaged, infected or diseased skin; • if you have severe joint pain of recent onset that is not related to an injury or period of overuse; • if you feel ill, have a temperature or any other symptoms that accompany the pain.Before applying this product for the first time, make sure it is suitable for you to use:

If you're taking liquid, it will come with a plastic syringe or spoon to measure your dose. If you do not have a syringe or spoon, ask your pharmacist for one. Do not use a kitchen spoon, as it will not measure the right amount. Adults and children of 12 years and over: Use 2 to 5 cm of gel (50 to 125mg of ibuprofen) on the affected area every 4 hours, if you need to. Don’t use more than 4 times in any 24 hours. The usual dose for adults is one or two 200mg tablets or capsules 3 times a day. In some cases, your doctor may prescribe a higher dose of up to 600mg to take 4 times a day if needed.
