It’s a block from Place des Vosges (an excellent park), and a 10 minute walk from both the river, and our favorite part of Le Marais and the Marché des Enfants Rouges. It’s home to the Sorbonne University, one of the oldest colleges in Europe, and got its name from the theology students who spoke in Latin until the French Revolution. They have free non alcoholic drinks in the rooms, and free snacks and drinks in the lobby for happy hour in the afternoon.

We crossed over to the island on the Pont Neuf and walked through the pleasant triangular square Place Dauphine. You could also head to the rooftop for a panoramic view of Paris, but I have a hidden gem spot for that!
