When they weren’t at odds with each other—I loved seeing them create magic with their work and be supportive of one another when it came to their dreams. Just like how he’s stuck with the way he proposed to Ama, his main collaborator and girlfriend (or was she? I think we could be together for forty years with twenty kids, and she still wouldn’t want to hear it. But with a mother who has been married more times than you can count on your fingers, Ama has decided that marriage is not the route for her.

The drama surrounding the high-profile wedding added to how interesting and intriguing this novel was. Another thing i hated about her was that her entire personality was about her work — wedding planning. It also goes back in time to when Ama and Elliot first met and how their relationship originally started. The main characters didn't spend much time in the same room, and Elliott's backwards narration made me a little impatient. This was dual pov and alternated timelines between the past that ama and Elliot shared together and the present day.

He talks his mind, asks for what he wants and offers others what he thinks they want if communication is off the table for that person and let me tell you what a big turn on it is. He has tattoos of rare flowers on his body, long black hair that is DEFINITELY not *wink wink* kept in a man bun. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. Her love life is nonexistent at best; she has serious commitment issues and never lets things get too far where there will be a need for commitment. What makes this trope even better for me is that they tend to come with past and present timelines and this one included that particular element. It takes until about 80% in the book to catch us up to speed fully on the past, and the first half of this I was so on board for. There is spice that I personally enjoyed, but it’s not an overwhelming amount if that’s not your thing. I think a lot of the depth that was missing could have been shown more during the flashbacks, and possibly, by adding some of Ama's POV to the past and Elliot's POV to the present. To make matters worse, both brides—oblivious to Ama and Elliot's history—see the tension between them and are determined to play matchmaker.

He was even described as someone who didn't have much experience, even that didn't have any negative effect on his striking perfection. I tried looking up a metaphor for that and Google wanted me to compare him to a lobster and I just don’t think I could live with myself if I did that. I also have to commend the author as I was in awe of the descriptive writing in all that goes into the wedding planning process. When Ama lands the job of her dreams, a headline-grabbing wedding for a glamorous Instagram star and her fiancee, it’s her biggest job yet. If you want to move forward with whatever this is between us, you don't have to worry about me backing out.The relationship wasn't developed at all—they like to bone and good for them but why do they actually like each other?
