Dispenza repeats “neurons that fire together wire together”, which is a well-known neuro-phenomenon, but his interpretation of quantum mechanics to self-healing seemed much less scientific to me. Many people would snub it as a voovoo hippie book, I don't think it is anything like that. Do give it a read it's bound to surprise you in many ways, if only you keep an open mind. Further more I really missed the other side of the coin... what about all the people who don't gain the health benefits from placebos (be it through placebos in the form of a pill or placebo through your own thoughts). What about all the people with the best hopes and intentions who still stay ill or die? The writer ignores this group and merely writes them off as not believing in the right things. I could go on longer, but I think this review gives you a good idea of my opinion of the book. You do this my waking up every morning and reminding yourself of who you want to be and who you no longer want to be to create an entirely new YOU! I would give it 5 stars for the positive change it can make in people’s lives. But I can’t give it more than three because big claims require big proofs and I haven’t seen many of those.

I do want to mention though that there does exist scientific literature for the effect of positive thinking and presenting with a higher quality of life or more healthily. This is an important concept and is the reason that I think a lot of people have benefited from reading this book. Much of the book, and especially the beginning, is about crazy stories of placebo effects, both positive and negative effects.

Stories are great and they were all impressive. However, stories are also misleading -read “ How to Lie With Statistics“-. This is what creates change within our bodies. Our beliefs about what is possible, and truly believing it and thinking about it enough, that your brain literal looks like it even thou it has not already occurred. It is incredibly important to bring emotion to our thoughts. The most powerful emotion in the human body is gratitude. Having gratitude for your perceived future now and be grateful for what you want to happen NOW creates powerful changes in the brain and body.

Vjerujem da je način pripovijedanja prilagođen da bi ga svi razumjeli, no i dalje bih rekla da su dijelovi knjige "teški" pošto je znanstveni dio vrlo prisutan. Podatci koji su izneseni kao dokaz mogli su biti puno jednostavniji, jer sigurna sam da oni koji uzmu ovu knjigu, vjeruju doktoru na riječ. Dr. Joe Despenza talks about the new science of epigenetics. Meaning, we can change our DNA based on our thoughts and environment. Every thought we think is signaling our genes to express in a certain way. Toxic thinking leads to toxic expression and problems in the body- Positive thinking leads to positive gene expression and health. It actually made me angry that the author didn’t record it and/or offer any proof for it: if he is onto something so life-changing it’s his duty to show proof of it so that more people can get that kind of help.
