Description

Unlike the classic Farpoint series, the Frpaoint Trek is only available in two sizes, neither of which is small enough to be considered a carry-on when you’re flying. The other common question I get is if the 40L carry-on size is big enough for certain trips. I think traveling minimally is great, but there are some trips where you might need a bit of extra space. If you are on the fence about how much space you need, then the Farpoint Trek 55 is a really nice step up from carry-on. Ok, how perfect is the product placement in this pic in Cappadocia? It totally wasn’t sponsored by Osprey (But I’m totally open to the opportunity…) No. The Farpoint Trek is too big to take on as hand luggage. You may be able to sneak the smaller 55-litre version on as hand luggage but officially, it’s too large.

Plus, the extra clips on the front and bottom meant I could strap a sleeping bag and a tent to the outside which was great when my bag was full.Osprey Farpoint Trek FAQs Osprey Farpoint VS Osprey Farpoint Trek – Which Should I Choose? The Farpoint and the Farpoint Trek, which one is for you? When reviewing the Farpoint Trek 55, it occurred to me that it could be part of a very cool set-up for long-term travel. It also opens suitcase-style from the side and not from the top, so you can always access everything very easily. This is perfect for when you mostly stay in hotels or in hostels. If I were going on a big round-the-world trip or gap year today — one that would take me through multiple climates — I would likely go for this set-up instead of just a single carry-on. Conclusion

No. The Farpoint Trek is the men’s version of the bag. The women’s version is known as the Fairview Trek and comes in two sizes, 50-litres and 70-litres. Although the Farpoint/Fairview series isn’t necessarily designed for hiking, they are comfortable enough to take on hikes during your travels. Where to buy Osprey Farpoint 55 So, I literally live out of this bag and have for three years of full-time travel through more than 20 countries. The frame in the Trek 75 is much like that of the original Farpoint. It is very unobtrusive yet still works incredibly well and makes carrying heavy loads a doddle. But if you don’t spend a lot of time outdoors, then you’re better off with the classic Farpoint. It’s better suited for travel, and it is available in more sizes.

On the plus side, though, the lifetime warranty means I can get it patched for free. The only reason I haven’t is that the material is so high-quality the hole hasn’t grown at all in two years and I forget it’s there! There are also 70-liter versions, though I personally consider these too large for general travel purposes. Features of the Farpoint Trek 55
