Elton John and David Furnish to Host 31st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party Feb 13, 2023 Leaders from the worlds of politics, activism, business, culture and sport, will come together on 21st September, the United Nations’ International Day of Peace, to mobilise a global audience in collective efforts against violence. Peace One Day Partners include: UN Global Compact; Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights; the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies; SDG Action Campaign; Peace Innovation Lab at Stanford University.

Appearing together at Peace Day Live, a flagship event run by Peace One Day, the speakers will call for action in three key areas to advance peace in communities around the world. The core themes, protecting people, planet, and wildlife, have been identified as essential enablers of peace, not only in conflict zones but in the towns and cities of the most developed nations. I am extremely humbled and grateful to be able to stand next to these heroic patients, parents, researchers, and doctors as we work together to find a cure for EB. Sharing this mission and message with people around the world has filled me with extreme pride and hope. Jolie began lobbying humanitarian interests in the U.S. capital, where she met with members of Congress at least 20 times from 2003.

One of the recipients, The National Alliance to End Homelessness ( NAEH), is a nonprofit, non-partisan, organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States. NAEH is partnered with the Re*Generation homeless youth organization and Gaga supports and joined Re*Generation at a pre-concert visit to Eva’s Phoenix, a Toronto youth shelter, wearing her full stage out fit to the shelter. While there she took a tour of the facilities and hung out with the kids, posing for photos and signing autographs. Using her talk to show to publicize The Angel Network, Winfrey has said that 100% of any donation you give, goes directly towards funding a project. Some examples of the projects are The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa and Rebuilding the Gulf Coast. The band has donated items for auctions benefiting Cancer Active and Kids Company, and for several years they have supported Kids Company further by donating proceeds from their Under 1 Roof charity concerts.
