Every time you win a duel or play a successful action card, your goatherd value goes up, making you more likely to win, but also a target for your fellow Goaters. If you are in a vindictive mood, there is also one Atomic Goat action which allows you to just flat out nuke a stack of goats.

Action cards change the strategy of the game and throw twists to your plot to dominate the know Goat World.Because it is a silly game, no one should get too upset when your stack gets nuked by an unexpected action or two. If the Discard Pile has more than five goat cards, then it may be shuffled and used as the new Draw Pile.

You may play multiple rounds keeping a running total of points until one player reaches 1,000 Goat Points. Complexity: (GO) The game is not complex, but I don't recommend it for the very youngest players in an unsupervised setting. If the defender wins, he or she collects the cards used in the duel and add them to the top (defended) pile. It’s a quirky little game that revolves around the cut-throat world of stealing goats from each other. It can be a pretty brutal game at times if you can’t burry your large goat groups before someone else steals them, but that’s how the game works.It’s perfect for any family game night, party game, thanksgiving games, christmas party games, teen games and more! Better, play a couple of hands with another, like-minded gamer and develop the table rules in advance so that you can share with your other players as you explain the game.

Gameplay continues until a player reaches one thousand points or until the group decides it is over. When you play a pair of goats, they won’t be worth but so many points, as the goats range from five to twenty points, most of which are on the lower end. Every time you win a duel successfully, your goatherd value goes up, making you more likely to win, but watch out! The included directions make it seem challenging to figure out but I watched a video on how to play which explained it well.

This game has been such a hit with everyone we’ve played it with that we end up giving away our copy of the base game as well as the expansion as soon as we finish playing to the people we just played it with because they loved it so much!
