Description

This remote menopause education programme has been developed by GPs and secondary care specialists. It is suitable for basic and more advanced training in the menopause including safe prescribing of HRT. There are links to evidence based articles and guidelines throughout every section of the course. There are also MCQ assessments after each module. Dr Louise has written the definitive, accessible and evidence-based guide to the perimenopause and menopause. It is the result of years of work in this field – combining not just her expert medical knowledge but the understanding and wisdom she has gained too. A lot of really useful info. I wish something like this had been around when I started perimenopause about 19 years ago. Still useful if you have gone through the menopause but still having symptoms. Makes me realise how many symptoms I have and how a lot of things that make you less confident or make you think you have other health issues can all be linked to a change in your hormone levels.

I have listened to this as an audiobook on Audible and I can say what a fantastically insightful book. Who would not want another chance in their lives when the perimenopause, i.e. the complex female hormonal (oestrogen and testosterone) deficiency? The women in my family did not have this opportunity available for them then; though they were full of life, longing to live for longer. I was determined to make a change, being able to see my grandchildren born and grow up and since my children have grown to teenage years, to fulfill the career I have always dreamt of. Having worked as a GP as well as opening Newson Health menopause clinic, she has built a wealth of knowledge from first-hand experience of treating perimenopausal and menopausal women. In this definitive guide, Dr Newson lays out everything women need to know to understand and reclaim their power during this stage of life: what to expect, how best to manage symptoms, and what help is available. The Newson Health Menopause Society is an international, multidisciplinary collective of healthcare professionals and experts who are passionate about improving women’s experience of the perimenopause and menopause and researching the role of hormones in disease prevention and future health. Dr Louise was working as a GP when she began to suspect that many patients with menopausal symptoms were being misdiagnosed by other healthcare professionals, or ignored. That led her to train as a menopause specialist and, in time, to become the UK’s most informed and passionate advocate for helping women find the help they need.
