Let's start with the best - the art. Bagley is beyond amazing. He does art the way that I like it and he's always been one of the best but I think his art just lines up perfectly with Spider-Man. I didn't need anything more than his art to make me happy, it was that good.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales Collection - Panini Spider-Man: Miles Morales Collection - Panini

Overall it is better than the first Omnibus as Bendis finds his groove and gives us a really good an fun Spiderman. Collects Marvel Team-Up (1972) #61-62; Marvel Two-in-One (1974) #50; Fantastic Four (1961) #209-218, 220-221, 232-260; Fantastic Four Annual (1963) #17; Avengers (1963) #233; and Thing (1983) #2. Though he started as a writer and artist of independent noir fiction series, he shot to stardom as a writer of Marvel Comics' superhero books, particularly Ultimate Spider-Man. In 2000, Marvel launched the Ultimate Universe, reinventing Spider-Man for a new generation and a new millennium. Now, the first three years of Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley's fan-favorite, award-winning take on the web-slinger are collected in one oversized volume! Relive Peter Parker's early days as Spider-Man, learning to fight crime by trial and error as he struggles to balance his new life with the demands of high school: puberty, homework and dating! Even with the help of his best friend and confidante, Mary Jane Watson, Peter has a heavy load to bear. But the neophyte Spider-Man is making many enemies, including the Green Goblin, the Kingpin of Crime, Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter and the maniacal Venom ... and unless he can rise to the occasion, he may not survive until prom! Collects Avengers vs. X-Men (2012) #0-12; Point One (2011) #1 (AVX story); AVX: Vs. (2012) #1-6; Avengers vs. X-Men: Infinite (2012) #1, 6, 10; Avengers Academy (2010) #29-33; Secret Avengers (2010) #26-28; Avengers (2010) #25-30; New Avengers (2010) #24-30; X-Men Legacy (2008) #266-270; Wolverine & the X-Men (2011) #9-16, 18; AVX: Consequences (2012) #1-5; Uncanny X-Men (2011) #11-20; and A-Babies vs. X-Babies (2012) #1.I don't have many regrets in life but after reading this book, I can honestly say that I regret not reading the Ultimate comics when they were coming out. This was refreshing and honestly it was the best comic run I've read in years. Letztendlich war es Bendis´ Name, der mich zu diesem Omnibus greifen ließ, und ich habe es nicht bereut. Collects Warrior (1982) #1-18, 20-21; Miracleman (1985) #1, 3, 6-16; Marvelman Special (1984) #1; A1 (1989) 1 [as presented in Miracleman (2014) 1-16]; and All-New Miracleman Annual (2014) #1.

This is what a Spider-Man comic should be. I've reread issues #1-26 many times but this is my first time getting to #39 due to Marvel being annoying about printing collections and my neurotic need to read everything in a physical form. Peter Parker is a mega dork who constantly screws up while meaning well, and that's what makes him one of the greatest superheroes of all time. Longtime Spidey fans or new fans need to read the Ultimate series as it's the best run since the original 1962 run. It's also very good at being self contained and not requiring the reader to know too much about the Ultimates (this takes place in Earth-1610), with only a few non-Spidey characters showing up. Also has the coolest version of the Green Goblin in my opinion. Collects Edge of Spider-Verse (2014) #1-5; Spider-Verse (2014) #1-2; Superior Spider-Man (2013) #32-33; Amazing Spider-Man (2014) #7-15; Spider-Man 2099 (2014) #5-8; Scarlet Spiders (2014) #1-3; Spider-Woman (2014) #1-4; Spider-Verse Team-Up (2014) #1-3; Free Comic Book Day 2014 (Guardians of the Galaxy) #1 (Spider-Verse story); Edge of Spider-Geddon (2018) #1-4; Spider-Geddon (2018) #0-5; Superior Octopus (2018) #1; Spider-Force (2018) #1-3; Spider-Girls (2018) #1-3; Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man (2017) #311-313; Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider (2018) #1-4; Vault of Spiders (2018) #1-2; Spider-Geddon: Spider-Man Noir Video Comic (2018); Spider-Geddon: Spider-Gwen – Ghost Spider Video Comic (2018); Spider-Geddon: Spider-Man Video Comic (2018); Spider-Geddon Handbook (2018) #1. This was a great recast of Spider-Man as a year-2000 teenager. Loved the way some of the familiar story beats were reframed. I know it isn't really fair to compare, but this retelling allowed them to improve on the original run on many levels. The storytelling is more condensed and more focused than Lee's original run. Highlights: Peter meeting Fury, the Kingpin, the battle with the Green Goblin seen from the goblin's perspective (trippy!). Venom. Collects Wolverine (1988) #31-59, Wolverine: Bloody Choices (1991) #1, Wolverine: Rahne of Terra (1991) #1, Ghost Rider/Wolverine/Punisher: Hearts of Darkness (1991) #1, X-Men (1991) #4-7; and material from Marvel Fanfare (1982) #54-55 and Marvel Comics Presents (1988) #85-108. I really enjoyed with what they did with Carnage in this rendition. Each time I re-read it I forget some of the details and it just hooked me once again re-reading it.Bendis is one of the premiere architects of Marvel's "Ultimate" line: comics specifically created for the new generation of comic readers. He has written every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man since its best-selling launch, and has also written for Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate X-Men, as well as every issue of Ultimate Marvel Team-Up, Ultimate Origin and Ultimate Six. So this was terrible. I was expecting something really different to this. I'm pretty sure I absolutely detest the ultimate universe, this confirms it. The old Stan lee stories were ten times better than this.

Sixth, the Marvel heavyweights who crop up - Fury, mutants, Fantastic Four, Ultimates - do so pretty much always in service of Spiderman's storyline, and while it feels like a definite power up when they share the action, they work alongside him to varying extents in a way that never feels crowbarred in.
