The instructions are seperated into two books. Interesting to note would be that the first book opens like a regular magazine but the second is diagonally. Side panels cover the Technic frame, either attached directly or held in place by clips and hinges. (This particular photo shows some modules added later in the build, since for this particular review we built the vehicle and then partially disassembled it for photography. This behind-the-scenes TBB moment was brought to you by LEGO part 6280341, Animal #70, Left Arm.)

The bags were already thrown away but the instructions show how the set was parted into 6 numbered bags. The Charger c70 retrofit, also known as the Republic frigate, was a product of the Corellian Engineering Corporation, based on the hull of the company's earlier Consular-class space cruiser; [1] at 138.55- meters long, [3] it was slightly larger than the original Consulars (at 115 meters). [10] The most important difference between the Charger c70 and its predecessor, however, was its combat configuration. [4] Unlike the unarmed Judicial cruiser, [11] the Charger c70 was equipped with four turret-mounted heavy laser cannons (ventral port and starboard and dorsal port and starboard), a forward-mounted twin light laser cannon, and dorsal turret-mounted quad laser cannon. Furthermore, it was outfitted with forward twin concussion missile launchers [4] as well as armored hull plating. [1] While not nearly as massive as the much-larger boxes for sets like the legendary 75192 UCS Millennium Falcon or more recent UCS Imperial Star Destroyer, the box for the UCS gunship is still rather huge, at least double the depth of regular sets. At over 3,000 pieces, the long-awaited UCS gunship is built from nearly three times the number of parts as the previous non-UCS version released in 2013. Although it’s been eight years since LEGO has released a non-microscale gunship, and granting that the outcome was determined by fan vote, I was personally disappointed that we didn’t get a UCS-scale Rebel Medical Frigate — at the time of the original announcement 18 months ago, LEGO had never released the Nebulon-B, although they did so with a very limited release at nano-scale later in the year. At last we have the most exciting part of the set: A grey container with 2x2 dark tan tile including Star Wars stile binoculars (not pictured) and a hologram of Darth Sidious. The same hologram is included in the UCS Executor making its inclusion here a miracle as the Jedi never recieved any messages from the darkest lord of all and LEGO seems to like putting small decorated pieces into sets that aren´t wort the money for a single piece. Both halves aren´t connected, the technic parts in the middle help keeping them together. There are five seats and two clips for weapons. Compound curves abound on the gunship’s fuselage, so studs-out construction begins early with the nose area, layering stepped arches to achieve some of the vertical curve. Star Wars Helmet Collection 73 ( Highlights of the Saga: The Maridun Incident) (First identified as Consular-class frigate)

Under-side. The legs above are retracted, the legs below in landing position. Instead of round plates the turrets on the underside are connected with 1x2 plates with 2x4 SNOTs. They aren´t turnable. The design is nice but I find it a little off. It looks like it was designed by Greg Hyland with a look of cloth on Sidious´ arms and hood. I would have preffered a real figure stile like with the original Han in carbonite or Emperor hologram on an 1X2X5 wall piece. On top if you remove 2 red curved vehicle roof pieces there is enough room for a minifig to stowaway in. Well frig it... after all this time no review - I bought it yesterday, built & photographed it last night to put up a review today and what happens? The lever helps transporting the model similiar to the one used on the AT-TE, Clone Turbo Tank and AT-OT. The Republic Frigate finally arrived. As the flagship of this years The Clone Wars line the frigate has to live up to some expectations. Being a redesign of the 2007 set 7665 Republic Cruiser it was easy to call it unnecessary, but is this set really only a re-issue or is there more behind it this time? Obviously yes, people who know me know that I don´t have the first Republic Cruiser because I disliked it, so this should definately be a better set.
