When reading the review guide that came with the Lian Li Lancool 216, I was a little dubious of the claims made about one or two of the new features that had been implemented into the chassis. With their new 216 mid-tower chassis, Lian Li had a simple design goal, to create a PC case that is relatively affordable while delivering tonnes of versatility and excellent out of the box performance. These still aim to provide a lot of bang for your buck, and given the success of the previous versions, it is no surprise that Lian Li continues to flesh out that product stack. Optimised for air and liquid cooling with an adjustable motherboard position and a rotatable rear I/O. I wasn’t expecting the external rear fan to help much at all with GPU temperature reduction but I was wrong.

With this air permeability, Lian Li wants to treat your PC components to as much cool air as possible. It's not so much a brilliant white almost an off-white and almost purple - grey in some light conditions. Inside the main chamber, there are plenty of hardware options, including support for E-ATX motherboards, full size GPUs, and 180mm CPU coolers. The 216 is a chassis from Lian Li that is designed to act as a blank canvas, offering PC builders the option to exploit this case’s unique features to create truly custom PCs.Now that we’ve taken a look at the looks of the Lian Li Lancool 216 Case, it’s time to get down to the nitty gritty. Unobstructed Airflow LANCOOL 215 features two pre-installed 200MM ARGB fans and a 120MM fan, combining with mesh panels, honeycomb vents enable efficient ventilation. Although it does come with the issue of many brands requiring specialised software to control the RGB of their products. With the Lian Li Lancool 216, there are plenty of opportunities to adjust the chassis to your needs.

I added 2 x 140mm fans in the slots below the GPU which is mounted traditionally, keep my 3090 well fed with fresh air. For example, the front I/O can be placed in one of two positions, on top of the front panel or down lower on the side. The included PCIe fan bracket accessory can be used in air-cooling mode in conjunction with horizontal GPUs at the 1st expansion slot, or with vertical GPU closer to the motherboard without obstructing the GPU I/O while providing better cooling for the GPU and a greater intake/exhaust balance for the system. By removing the bottom placeholder, which is held in place by two Phillips screws, we can run the cables to the side of the case. Not planning to do any overclocking, so the PerMesh should (hopefully) be good enough even with a new-gen GPU (I couldn't find any numbers about how much CFM is recommended though).Furthermore, you can easily sync your fans together with your motherboard, by pressing either of the lighting effect buttons for three seconds. LANCOOL II is the easiest to open the Tempered glass side panels, offer an unobstructed view to the internal components. There are the standard channels for the front fans, but there are also similar routing options at the top. The buttons on the left side of the module handle the lighting effects of the blades and rim of the fans, while the right-hand buttons manage the colours.

The front and top panel feature fine mesh that permits ample air to flow both into and out of the case. The above specs help highlight some of the benefits the extra size of this already chunky chassis delivers. The current economic climate puts the Lancool 216 in the mid-range sector with some very fierce competition, so it’ll need something unique to stand out in the crowd. If there is yet another month-long delay in March with no clarification from OCUK/Lian Li then I will consider opting for a less ideal case.H) and supports ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX motherboards, plus E-ATX under 280mm wide, 392mm-long graphics cards, and 180. For watercooling radiators, there is space for up to 360mm in the front and top, plus 240mm on the PSU compartment. To ensure plenty of air is passed through, the LANCOOL 216 features a continuous front-to-top fine mesh panel and a PSU shroud side mesh panel. Only at the front I/O is it recommended to either unscrew or unscrew the fans, as the gaps there could damage the cables. In the second chamber, 5 Velcro straps, clips, and tie points provide clear routing options for cable management.

Getting two 160mm aRGB fans, excellent build quality, strong watercooling support, support for vertical GPU mounting, and superb cable management is something of importance. It includes 2 x 160mm and 1 x 140mm pre-installed PWM fans and an innovative rear PCIe fan bracket to maximise airflow.Firstly, behind the motherboard tray there are three Velcro straps situated next to the rubber pass-through grommets. The additional 120mm fan provides better cooling for the GPU and a greater intake/exhaust balance for the system.
