Caitlin- All I have to say is that I hope she gets the world and bless her sweetheart. I loved her so much and she was such a kind and sweet girl and didn't deserve what Sky did to her. This is just my opinion of course, but it feels as if the author had the right idea with the Sara character and someone else got her to change her mind in the structure--interspersing the elevator scenes with The Sara scenes. Rewrite alert. Now, had I been given the strong Sara scenes first and then the elevator scenes, also in first person with Sara in the elevator because I cared so strongly about her, then that would've been a hell'va book. This book contains so much despicable, ruthless, nasty, notorious characters, shapeless products from the intercourse Hitler and R. Kelly kind of evil ( evil looks like Tinkerball when you compare him with those in humans) characters. Should theyput aside their doubts and immerse themselves in everything Tranquillum House has to offer—or should they run while they still can? Al met al, ondanks wat stomme dingetjes, was dit toch een boek wat ik erg leuk vond om te lezen. Het had veel spannende momentjes! Dus ik zou het zeker aanraden. Escape room, de nieuwe hype in Nederland en vrijwel iedereen heeft het al eens geprobeerd. Maar stel nu dat je met 3 vrienden besluit mee te doen en er niet uitkomt. Ook als de tijd na 60 minuten op is, gaat de deur niet open. En nu? Ami’s dad has booked what he believes will be the perfect gift for her to the Ultimate Escape Room. Ami arrives to an empty room and soon meets others who are to be her team mates in the game; Adjoa, Oscar, Ibrahim and Min. The title of this book definitely piqued my interest as I find escape room games quite intriguing, although I’ve never played myself. I want to though! A fantastic read aloud, Escape Room would also make an excellent core text to inspire children's own writing, drama and debate work. It's time to play for real… Plot: Suspenseful, gripping, fast-paced, dark, sinister, chilling, captivating, imaginative, fanatical, and entertaining. Christopher Edge start het verhaal meteen bij The Escape, dus het gaat direct beginnen! Je wordt meegenomen in een wereld vol mysteries, opdrachten en puzzels. Christopher Edge heeft ervoor gekozen om Escape room vooral te vertellen vanuit Ami’s perspectief. Je leest haar gedachtes en leert Ami kennen als een slim en doortastend meisje. Natuurlijk zit Ami niet in haar eentje in The Escape, maar samen met vijf andere teamgenoten. Ze zijn allemaal anders, maar vullen elkaar perfect aan. Christopher Edge laat ze stuk voor stuk tot leven komen door het gebruik van kleine details! Net zoals alle kamers en puzzels die opgelost moeten worden. Escape room zit op dit punt dus zeker wel goed in elkaar.

Escape Room as a book

Imagine however being trapped in an elevator with three colleagues in what your boss calls a team building exercise known as “The Escape Room.” We zien eerst hoe de groep samen komt, dan de escape room ontdekt en daar dan vervolgens heen gaan. Ondertussen komt de persoon X af en toe voorbij met dreigende teksten die het boek best spannend maken. Het boek laat steeds het verhaal vanuit verschillende hoofdrolspelers en de dader zien. Hoe verder je in het verhaal zit, hoe meer hints je ziet. Van sommige hints valt pas later het kwartje. Het verhaal zit echt , tot in detail, goed in elkaar. Als lezer ben je zelf ook flink aan het puzzelen met de hints. Alle vier de hoofdpersonen hebben zo hun geheimen. Het einde vond ik erg goed, zag het niet aankomen.
