Description

A powerful and compact step sequencer, SQ-64 combines intuitive functionality with deep editing capabilities giving you seamless control over your software and hardware setup. Do you know of a way to have the mod lane initialized to 0 volts (64) instead of having start it at 127? The OLED screen is clear and subdued and split into four sections to describe four functions; you would think these were controlled by the four buttons that sit immediately beneath, but in fact you’ll find the four knobs to the right are what you need to be fiddling with. All of the LEDs were suddenly much brighter, making it difficult to distinguish between steps that are on and those that are off. THE TIME PERIOD OF THIS DELAY IS CURRENTLY UNKNOWN BUT WE ARE WORKING WITH COURIER SERVICES TO RESUME NORMAL SERVICE.

I find the interface a little inscrutable and while I looked into it a little when it came out it seemed to be a bit buggy so I put it out of mind. Whether you like analogue synths, Eurorack modular or semi-modular synths, digital drum machines or do everything on your DAW with digital plug-ins, the SQ-64 will give you instant and precise control over every one of them.Because only one other drum track received the notes, and one other drum track had all its notes deleted completely. For more variation, you can rotate the gate pattern forwards or backwards, picking out different notes along the way.

So yeah the hardware is great but the software implementation is really lacking and is quite disappointing. With its powerful built-in arpeggiator, you can easily bring to life and create interesting patterns from any software plugin, analogue or digital synthesizer, for immediate inspiration. I will keep my eye on this thread as I have been, for news of any firmware updates, news of any software editor (apparently one is in the works), and for other's experiences, hints, tips etc.Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). Each mode comes with a slightly different set of four possible parameters displayed on the screen and accessed with the knobs. Also, in the first layout, steps are "paged" and you use the top buttons 1 to 4 to access pages, you don't scroll steps with a knob. There doesn’t appear to be a step‑record function where you tap notes and have them added to the next step, and this feels a strange omission on a hardware sequencer. Otherwise the handling is intuitive, but I would recommend to look for video tutorials on the web because the manual is quite modest regarding information on how to get the sequencer working in depht.

The SQ-64 is Korg's first Sequencer since the SQ-1 - which came out the same time as the MS-20 mini and was a simple 8 step analog affair. Yes it’s in the drum tracks… I understand what you’re saying , but why on earth would anyone want to copy a single step of 16 drum tracks at once?

All of the patch sockets are on the back, which means I can’t butt the SQ‑64 up against my rack because of all the cables. The arpeggiator is moving so fast it sounds like a gurgle and I haven’t found a way of improving upon it. really like the idea of the SQ-64, does anyone have time to check the “tightness” of the clock, especially when acting as a slave and then outputting to other midi devices? Powered through USB or external 9V DC adaptor, a choice of power options offer both versatility and flexibility.
