In addition to these highlights, for three consecutive seasons (2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19), Celtic have won every domestic trophy on offer (nine), completing the first Scottish ‘treble-treble’ (no other Scottish side has even won the domestic treble in two consecutive seasons). Its a metal crest badge with a stud fixed you can wear them on your shirt scarf bag or anywhere else you can think to put them.

Established in 1888, Celtic has become one of the most adorned and respected football clubs in the world. My Dad related several shocking anecdotes about Kelly, but on a day like today I am in no mood to be negative or uncharitable. First placed badge on each judge’s list received 60 points, second received 49, third, 48 and so on with 50th placed badge receiving 1 point. As it is, the club won four trophies that season and in effect the whole history of the club was to change.

The 3 leaf shamrock is used often in the early days in Celtic publications, especially the Celtic Handbooks but one example of the 4 leaf is seen as early as 1908 when the club made up medals to commemorate the 4 trophies won that glorious year and gave them to the players. The Celtic logo is composed of a stylized clover image, enclosed in a wide circular frame with a white background and a double green outline. The badge is displayed on all articles of Celtic merchandise and countless millions of people all over the world have seen this unique badge on an equally unique and impressive hooped shirt. Evidence has been found since this article was initially written that the Celtic four leafed clover badge was used officially even earlier in 1935, see below]. I have mixed feelings about this one, I have always been a massive fan of the clover and the inclusion of black to help things stand out. This badge make a top scoring addition to your collection and it is bound to get you noticed next time you are at the game and they will also make a lovely gift for a loyal fan.

Celtic’s most successful season came in 1966/67, when the club participated in five competitions (the Scottish First Division, the Scottish Cup, the Scottish League Cup, the Glasgow Cup and the European Cup), winning each one. After due consultation and consideration, Celtic supporters either at club or association level responded to this ‘request and the plaque design was gifted to Celtic F. It may have been that in 1908 the club selected a four leaf shamrock rather than the traditional three leaf to mark the four trophies won.

The only significant change to the badge was that the name around the badge now stated “ The Celtic Football Club” as against “ The Celtic Football and Athletic Coy. The badges below were created by the club and presented to players in honour of the first team’s great achievement in season 1907-08 for winning a domestic quadruple. In fact stronger proof that the official badge until 1938 was the 3 leaf is seen on the back of the 1929/30 season ticket with the badge stamped proudly.

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the club’s existence, they adopted this logo: a white circle with a lot of green elements. Celtic, nicknamed The Bhoys and The Hoops, is the football club from Scotland, which was established in 1888. After due consultation and consideration, Celtic supporters either at club or association level responded to this ‘request’ and the plaque design was gifted to Celtic F. Redesigning the badge of such an iconic football club (with some of the most devoted supporters in the world) was a daunting task, even if my alterations were only for fun. This whole ReBrand project was first inspired by my toying around with the iconic Celtic badge over over many years. I was one of the very first to cast eyes on the Badge when I sat on my father’s knee on a Celtic bus in Bonnybridge and I was only two years old. Clear examples of the 3 leaf being used until then was the large green 3 leaf shamrock glass plaque in honour of John Thomson along with the large 3 leaf shamrock used on his goalkeeper top which was common at that time. The club’s wordmark, “The Celtic Football Club”, is written in a lightweight sans-serif typeface with thin clean lines and placed on the upper part of the badge’s frame, arched from the center. I saw a reference in The Celt fanzine some time ago to there being an earlier four leaf clover emblem used by the club.
