Until we reach the end and they realize that they’re both complex humans who can find goodness in both light and dark. The book is so heavy-handed in its morals that it almost feels like you’re being grabbed by the hand and pointed toward the characters while the narrative gleefully exclaims “See!!! Light and Dark are both good!” This is stupid because the narrative fails to recognize that the characters already kind of recognize that their nature is driven by ambiguity. It’s what made a lot of people (including Will) turn their attention to Nico because this ambiguity made him such a relatable and interesting character in the first place to readers.

As the son of Hades, Nico di Angelo has been through so much, from the premature deaths of his mother and sister, to being outed against his will, to losing his friend Jason during the trials of Apollo. But there is a ray of sunshine in his life–literally: his boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo. Together the two demigods can overcome any obstacle or foe. At least, that’s been the case so far . . .Fair enough! But this makes me wonder which characters we’ll most likely see in The Sun and the Star. As of right now, Nico, Will, Bob (and probably Small Bob), Rachel, Chiron, and Mr. D are the only ones confirmed by the synopsis, but there are plenty of other characters who could play a role. To figure out which ones may show up, however, we’ll have to talk about the last piece of the puzzle, which is what we learned at the end of The Tower of Nero. Nyx had potential - I liked the idea of her wanting Nico to bathe in darkness and be darkness and seeing herself as a mother figure to him but again.... children. THEIR children.

TOW: Top of the week: As in, “We will connect at the top of the week.” Actual meaning: “We will talk by next Thursday afternoon.” Will and Nico's dynamic was really interesting to finally see develop - communication and understanding their true self was so very true and important in this story, and I loved how that no matter how many times the nightmares threatened to plunge them into an eternal darkness, they would always find a way into the light through the help of each other. 🌟🌞 There was a perfect balance of trust and humor in their banter - a subtle tease of flirting and dear affection - and such an earnest and emotional connection of affection shown between the two of them. ' Sunlight provides necessary light and energy to plants and other producers in the food web. These producers absorb the sun’s radiation and convert it into energy through a process called photosynthesis.Today, the Sun continues to fuse hydrogen atoms to make helium in its core. It fuses about 600 million tons of hydrogen every second, yielding 596 million tons of helium. The remaining four million tons of hydrogen are converted to energy, which makes the Sun shine. Most of this energy is in the form of gamma-rays and X-rays. As the energy works its way to the surface -- a process that takes centuries -- it is absorbed by other atoms, then re-radiated at other wavelengths. When it reaches the surface, where it can escape into space, most of the energy is in the form of visible light.
