Description

The Ender 5 Pro can be used both by beginners and expert users. Its open-source nature gives you the possibility to upgrade its features over time. Also, it allows replacing fault parts and fixing almost any printing issue by yourself. The open material system allows for printing with third-party filaments, while the open-source hardware leaves room for lots of upgrades and mods.

Whether you’re after a new extruder, hot end, tubing, nozzles, tensioners, knobs, casings, cooling systems, and so much more, there’s an option out there. For a deeper dive into what’s available, head to our dedicated Ender 3 upgrade guide and Ender 5 Pro upgrade guide. Ender 3 V2 vs Ender 5 Pro – The Bottom Line Both come with well-guided instructions and it’s a case of attaching the gantry and plugging in a few cables. The Ender 5 Pro is arguably a tad more challenging due to the design of the printer, but we’re talking an extra few minutes for most people so hardly a major difference. I noticed no significant issues in our test prints. A couple of small objects showed some spurious, thin filament "hairs" extending between portions of the prints; this is a common issue with FFF printers, and fortunately these strands are easy enough to clip and sand away. The Ender 5 Pro is ever so slightly more suited to more temperature-sensitive materials like nylon that require hotter nozzle temperature to print well. If you're getting into 3D printing and wanting a capable printer with the most advanced features, the Creality K1 is an excellent option. Its feature set and capabilities stand up well against the wider 3D printing market, and the major design elements have all been well-tested on previous machines by Creality and other manufacturers.

The Print Bed: Doing Your Level Best

The pattern for the filling is also important. In Cura you have the choice between different patterns that differ in their stability. Creality offers a number of different 3D printers, and it can take some time to find the one that is best for you. In general, build volume is a great first step in narrowing down your search. We have organized the 3D printers into categories to help you determine which one will fit your needs best. In each category, we’ll discuss the various choices and help you make the best decision. While the Ender 3 Neo shares many key features (like build volume and filament compatibility), it also adds some “nice-to-haves” like a glass bed and silent motherboard.

Improved Heated Bed - the 24V power system supports heated platform that can reach temperatures up to 110C. This is a major improvement over the CR-10 S4 which takes a long time to heat up, and cannot reach temperatures above 70C. There are many other options in the firmware for setting up upgrades, tuning, and other features. Read through the files configuration section to see all the features we’ve put in the firmware for you.The Creality K1 Max is Creality’s highest-end printer in this size class, with the same 300 x 300 x 300 mm (12” x 12” x 12”) build volume as the other options, but an advanced feature set that goes beyond what the other printers offer. It has an enclosed design and uses a CoreXY motion system to allow for higher print speeds. Along with the Sprite direct drive extruder, this makes the Creality K1 Max capable of printing at up to 600 mm/s.

The 5 Pro comes bundled with a proprietary version of the Cura slicer, the so-called Creality slicer. The default printer profile lets you smoothly print with the provided filament just after unboxing. If extruder and nozzle temperature are top of your list of requirements, it may be worth taking a peek at Creality’s new Ender 3 S1 Pro. With a nozzle that can reach temperatures up to 300°, the Ender 3 S1 Pro is equipped to print a broader range of materials – PLA, ABSE, PETG, Nylon, TPU, Wood fill, and numerous other high-temperature filament types. The Ender 5 Pro extra 50 mm on the Z-axis gives you a bit more room to print taller objects. Max Nozzle and Bed TemperatureTouch Screen - Though the CR-6 max does not have a unibody design like the CR-10 Max, it does have a modern touch screen Filament Guide: this guide helps keep the filament away from the feeders, making for smoother extrusion.
