Yes it’s another Irish album because, let’s face it, if there’s one good thing the Irish do (yes we know there’s many many things they’re good at), it’s making amazing music. Gaster, Paul (30 November 1999). The Corrs – Corner to Corner: The Authorised Behind-the-Scenes Book. London, England: André Deutsch. ISBN 0233996346. I tend to wax and wane on The Corrs. Sometimes the music just seems too middle of the road to me. Too bland and insipid and too many songs about love. But then I’ll listen to an album again, like I just have now, and think differently. A notable album highlight was Queen Of Hollywood, which was co-written with Dane Deviller and Glen Ballard. The song’s lyrics were written by Andrea Corr after watching a documentary about prostitution and drugs in New York City. “It’s really the tale of a girl pursuing a dream, and what it looks like on the outside and what actually is happening to her is not quite the same picture,” Andrea explained to the BBC in 2001. “Just kind of a tragic tale of someone pursuing a dream, and it doesn’t work out, but she feels there’s something different about her. It’s kind of a tragic song.” The Corrs released their second album, “Talk on Corners” in Ireland in late 1997, following it up with a US release in April 1998. The album title comes from a line in the song, “Queen of Hollywood”, and kinda catches you by surprise when you hear it – “oh there’s the album title”…well it did us anyway.a b "The UK's 60 official biggest selling albums of all time revealed".
