Description

Replace the spark plug. Spark plugs can easily become damaged or worn. When this happens, it’s likely that the leaf blower won’t start up.

Why not invest in a garden shredderas well? One of these will make short work of bulky garden waste like branch cuttings, crushing it down into more manageable chippings or mulch. There's a number of reasons why your leaf blower might be failing to start up, and it typically depends on what fuel your models uses – petrol, electricity or battery. 1. Old fuel left in your petrol leaf blower The Scirocco 3000 has two modes, blower and vacuum, which work best when used together to blow the leaves into a single pile before you switch to vacuum mode to collect them all in one go. Leaves are also shredded as you work, and gathered in the 45 litre collection bag. While Flymo are a company best known for their hover movers , they also produce an excellent range of other machinery, including garden vacuums which have fast become one of the UK’s most used domestic leaf blowers.Another important consideration when investing in a leaf blower is the power source, with electrical and petrol powered machines both commonly available. Electric leaf blowers can be further subdivided into two categories; corded and cordless. Corded machines have the advantage of being easy to use as you can simply plug them in and go, though they are only really suitable for use in smaller gardens due to requiring access to a power outlet. Cordless machines, meanwhile, offer the same clean running and powerful performance as corded machines but with added portability, though the run time available from their rechargeable batteries means that they may struggle with heavier workloads. The most basic models in our range are standalone leaf blowers with no leaf-collecting functionality, which nevertheless offer a reliable, no-nonsense alternative to manual clearance work. However, we also sell dual function blower vacs with mesh collection bags so that you can gather leaves as you work; these machines often have a small blade attached to the impeller unit to shred leaves as they are vacuumed, increasing the collection capacity of your machine while producing a fine mulch which is ideal for composting! This ensures a pleasing level of versatility not often associated with leaf blowers. An electric handheld blower & vacuum which provides a superb balance between power, versatility and user convenience, the Flymo GardenVac 2700 Electric Garden Vacuum makes it easier than ever to keep your garden immaculately tidy all year round. How to avoid: Clean the filter after around 10 hours of use and then replace it when it becomes too dirty to clean. 4. Broken power cord

A superb handheld electric vacuum perfect for clearing leaves from lawns and hard surfaces, the Flymo Scirocco 3000 Electric Garden Vacuum is perfect for urban, residential or built up areas where petrol machinery would be too noisy. You've come to the right place for a great selection of quality garden hand tools as well - from a garden raketo shears, spades and trowels, we've got you covered - plus, they're budget-friendly and ideal for more delicate gardening tasks! The GardenVac 2700 is designed for home use and is powered by a quiet and clean running electric motor which allows to user to work in comfort at all times, and achieve great results without disturbing the neighbours. How to avoid: If you use your leaf blower a lot, try to replace the spark plug at the start of each season. How to avoid: Empty the bag regularly – a heavy bag will put more pressure on the attachment. Try to keep the bag clean, as it can get clogged with dust and soil. It's also best to collect leaves on a dry day, as wet leaves makes the bag very heavy. Remove the old fuel and refill with a fresh batch. Fuel does not age well, and can start to deteriorate within just 30 days. If it’s too stale, it won’t allow the machine to start properly.

For the ultimate combination of power and freedom of movement, however, there really is nothing better than a traditional petrol power blower. Anyone with a large garden or commercial property will want one of these machines for their clearance needs, especially if the area in question is abounding with trees or other leafy plants. Potent, manoeuvrable and increasingly user-friendly, these machines represent the most effective way of clearing dirt, debris, leaves and just about anything else not nailed down from a variety of outside. Whether you're after a corded or cordless leaf blower, there's something here for all requirements and budgets. Consider one of our versatile combination models which works not just as a leaf blower and vacuum, but as a handy mulcher as well. And when it comes to making good use of garden waste, be sure to take a look at our selection of garden composters- just what you'll need to feed your flower beds or the veg patch. Interested in how compost is made? Our handy guide on how to make compostwill help you make beautiful, nutrient-rich compost at home. Clean or replace you air filter. Air must be able to move in and out of the engine for the blower to start – this is normally done through an air filter. If the air filter becomes clogged with dust and dirt it will stop the air flowing, therefore preventing the blower from turning on. Whatever your choice, you can rest assured this garden vaccum will make light work of your garden tidy-up this autumn

Refine Selection

Many leaf blower vacuums have either a twist attachment or clips to keep the collection bag in place. In a Which? member survey, around one in six respondents reported having issues with a broken bag attachment.
