About this deal

Note that the US version of the 43A6 is not exactly the same as the UK version; for instance, the US model gets the Android TV smart platform, while the UK model gets Hisense’s VIDAA system. Like the UX above, Hisense is still working out the exact details, so some design elements shown here might not be available in all regions. This quality in video smoothness extends to your live sporting events also, with reduced motion blur and stuttering helping you to see every second of play. Experience a wider palette of colour up to 100% (typical value) under the DCI-P3 standard ensures smoother gradients whilst reds, greens and blues appear more vivid and realistic.

Out of the box, I was concerned when colours were inaccurate and some settings were on by default that messed with quality. The biggest audio issue is that there isn’t much bass around to help give impact sounds more, well, impact. Finally, Hisense has also announced the Hisense U76N, which is a new model in the ULED lineup that's only available in a 100" size. The 43A6GTUK also manages to provide a bit of video processing to back up its 50Hz pictures, including a motion processor with handy Clear, Film and Custom settings.

After a week of use since writing this review, I am very satisfied for what I payed for, and it is my hope this TV will last a good long while. They've recently started to add gaming features like variable refresh rate (VRR) support, so they compete with some other brands. Seamlessly transition between all of your favourite content and on-demand entertainment with the all-new, user-optimised VIDAA U Smart TV interface.

It also has fantastic peak brightness in HDR, and thanks to its impressive local dimming feature, blacks look dark, inky, and uniform in a dark room, and bright highlights stand out incredibly well.It has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, as well as advanced DTS audio format support, but its low-quality content smoothing is poor, so it isn't as good for a home entertainment center as the higher-end models. They usually have VA panels that display deep blacks, which are bright enough to fight glare in well-lit rooms. Ultra dimming and a 4K resolution upscaler ensure sophisticated image optimization so that content with a lower resolution can also be displayed perfectly.

Yes, there are weaknesses - its unhelpful presets, for example, and the slight de-saturation and occasionally banding in its colours. It offers the same great features as the Hisense U7N, including 144Hz gaming support and Wi-Fi 6e, and sits between the U7N and the U8N. More expensive TVs hoping for a picture horror show from the 43A6GTUK should brace for disappointment. The trim depth of most of its rear and its angled bottom edge are about as close to style as the 43A6GTUK gets.
