Description

Is there anything on the same circuit that could be causing electrical interference, e.g. a fluorescent light starter or a central heating pump? All Aico alarms have a date-code label on the side of them which tells you exactly when the alarm was made and also the recommended replacement date.

Turn the mains power to the alarms off in the property and ensure the green indicator light on the alarm is off. The model number of each alarm and accessory is noted on the side of the product, along with the age and replace by date. You can type this number into the search bar above to find out all the details of your alarm. In code mode, the amber indicator will flash to indicate the number of other RF alarms that have been 'leaed' in the systemRange: The type of building will be the major limiting factor e.g. the number and type of walls/ceilings that the radio signal has to pass through. As a guide, 30m should be the maximum distance between any of the RadioLINK units in the system. The Ei168 RadioLINK Base transmits a radio frequency (RF) alarm signal when the unit attached to it senses fire. When it receives an RF signal from another Ei168 Base, the attached alarm will sound. It therefore eliminates the need to install long interconnect wires between all the alarms on different floors in different rooms.

Now test the alarm by pressing and holding the test button on the front of the unit. The unit should make an alarm sound and also activate any other alarms in the property. Eliminates the need for any cabling between the Ei428 and the smoke, heat and CO alarms used in the system. The 3000, Ei2110e and 160e Series alarms all use modules to connect alarms with each other wirelessly using radio frequency signals. Above this is the ‘Replace By’ date, but note that the date on the label shows the maximum life of the alarm and alarms should always be replaced before their life is up. Performing a regular test is a vital part of ensuring continued Fire and Carbon Monoxide detection. Alarms should be tested monthly to ensure everything is working correctly. If you are using an Alarm Controller Ei450 this will continue for as long as you hold down the ‘Test’ button. Once the system has been set up, information can be accessed securely from within or outside a property if access is an issue. Event logs can be retrieved as many times as necessary and for each alarm on the system, retrieving data such as how many direct button tests have been performed and when, any issues with the battery and/or mains supply, Carbon Monoxide (CO) levels detected if a CO alarm is on the system, Radio Frequency signal strength between alarms, age of alarms and any alarm removed. Designed for use with the Easi Fit range of alarms and its fully compatible with any Ei160 or Ei140;series alarms. - It is from here that the radio signals are transmitted and received.
