The Beatles have never been as good on film as they were here, supported by an excellent cast (Oh, Elanor Bron). You could say it is a bit daft and dated in parts but then the music starts playing and it's brilliant and once again you are singing along to each track. While the movie remained appealing, the issues with definition and edge haloes created some mild problems. like 'A Hard Day's Night', is a great (and fun) film and you can see that The Beatles were having a blast making it.

Although some reviews stated that only the USA version had these issues and not the UK manufactured ones. Most of the material stayed in the realm of general ambience, without many scenes that broadened matters in a significant way. The supporting characters play much more prominent roles than they had in A Hard Day's Night; at times, it seems like the Beatles are the support, not the other way around.

It also drops trailers for other Beatle products, some cast and crew biographies, news reels and a bit of behind the scenes footage. The one I am referring to were sold separately but they had two DVD's each, one the ""upgraded"" CGI versions and the other had the original version as a bonus. These kinds of featurettes inevitably tend to become self-congratulatory, and a little of that happens here. One of my favourite bits is where they go to Scotland Yard and Patrick Cargill says "So this is the famous Beatles. soundtrack with an hour of extra features, including a 30-minute documentary about the making of the film, memories of the cast and crew, an in-depth look at the restoration process, an outtake scene, and original theatrical trailers and radio spots.
