I love breakfast foods it is my favorite meal of the day. I really love this book it has a great selection of recipes. It even has homemade yogurt which I haven’t made since I was young but after seeing the recipe in this book I plan on trying it again I loved making it fresh but just stopped makingit somewherealong the way.

If you make any of the recipes from the book, feel free to share your creations, and I’ll be featuring all of your photos here on the blog. The Mediterranean diet is a popular diet that’s proven to be particularly helpful when it comes to heart health. It's recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and World Health Organization, according to the Mayo Clinic, as a means to “promote health and prevent chronic disease.”Also worth mentioning-The cholesterol found in egg yolks and butter is the GOOD kind of cholesterol, and in egg yolks, you also get LOADS of vitamins and minerals. There's something for everyone! So, rise and shine - it's time to get cooking! This book ended up being an absolute win for me!

Lacey Muinos is a food and wellness writer. She’s followed a plant-based diet for more than five years and loves Mediterranean staples, including hummus, pita bread, olive oil, and legumes. Miller advocates pre-rolled filo pastry for this Greek dish, which makes it incredibly simple to make. The recipe doesn’t require a particularly long list of ingredients, although I cursed myself for not having a pastry brush to sweep the olive oil over the filo. There is not a specific definition to this diet—it’s more of a general lifestyle and eating pattern based on Mediterranean region countries, including Greece and Italy, that were having significantly fewer deaths due to heart disease, as observed in the 1960s. Since then, studies have shown that this diet is correlated with reduced risk factors for cardiovascular disease, according to Mayo Clinic. This diet emphasizes plants (lots of fruits and veggies); healthy fats ( extra-virgin olive oil); whole grains ( farro, anyone?); weekly portions of fish, poultry, beans, and eggs; moderate dairy; and limited red meat. Red wine is also OK in moderation. Admirably substantive ... with its simple concept and impressive breadth, Breakfast: The Cookbook offers a satisfyingly feel-good take on the most universal meal, one that will open home cooks' eyes to food traditions beyond their own while reminding them just how alike we all are.' - EaterA clean layout is paramount to a great cookbook. After all, if it’s too difficult to read, you’re not likely to use it. Highlights of an easy to use cookbook can include numbered directions, substitutions for ingredients, information like serving sizes or cook time, pictures with each recipe, conversion tables, a well-organized table of contents, helpful tips. The PB Protein Bites made out of peanut butter, oats, honey, pecans, flax seed, chia seed ,and honey are deliciousand easy to take on the go.

I loved the way the recipes were laid out - there was so much variety in the types of food covered - I feel like Jasmine when Aladdin serenades the 'whole new world' song! Some people look forward to waking up every morning just for the sheer joy of eating breakfast. Others feel that breakfast is a waste of calories and try to hold out until lunchtime. Still other people are puzzled about how to eat a healthy breakfast that won't take too long to prepare. Any or all of these folks might enjoy a look at this cookbook that is only about that first meal of the day...though who is to stop you from having breakfast for dinner?A few people have complained about the overnight recipes but they must have never made overnight oatmeal. These recipes are super easy to throw together at night n grab in the morning most can even be frozen so they are seriously much more convenient then they are getting credit for. The author also has a list of ingredients to keep on hand in your pantry, fridge, and freezer. I highly recommend getting them because I tend to make a recipe when the mood strikes and not having to run to the store is always bonus. The recipes are labeled for gluten free, vegetarian, super-rushed, less than 5-ingrediants, diary-free, and vegan. Food writer Emily Elyse Miller grew up between Arizona and Hawaii, and her grandfather ran in a delicatessen in The Bronx in New York – where he would serve lox (wild salmon belly), eggs and onions with toasted bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. It inspired in her a fascination for morning routines, “when your brain and your palate are a clean slate”. If you plan to cook exclusively from this new book as a part of your new diet, purchasing a book with more recipes will give you more options and variety; this might be particularly helpful if you’re cooking for a larger family with lots of different meal preferences. On the other hand, if you plan to use the book only occasionally or for cooking for a particular family member or guest, you don’t necessarily need quite as many recipes and can opt for a smaller book. Quality is what matters, not quantity.

There is a good mixture of breakfast foods. You have homemade yogurt which I haven’t ever made but after seeing the recipe in this book I plan on trying it now. Chia Seed Pudding which was very easy to make and not to mention very tasty. Then you have your more traditional foods like eggs and bacon. Other foods like crepes, quinoa porridge, eggs in avocado, sous vide egg bites, granola, 3-minute microwave toast, and sweet potato toast.I love breakfast foods anytime of the day. Usually in the morning I don’t make elaborate breakfast but, I enjoy it at other times.
