You won't be too surprised to learn that even some watchmakers have taken on this sci-fi universe as a design theme, using it to inspire everything from affordable watches to some rather high-end, esoteric examples. Maybe you're a serious enthusiast who would wear your fandom on your sleeve in the form of a wristwatch, or maybe you're just curious what a Star Wars watch would look like. In either case, and in the spirit of the season, we present you with a selection of the watch world's contribution to Star Wars fandom on this May 4th. Garmin’s line of Star Wars-themed sports smartwatches is devoted to two characters: Rey and Darth Vader. The watches were introduced before the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

There are two R2-D2 designs, both of which are quartz watches. There’s the 53mm stainless steel model with an R2-D2 illustration on the center and has a blue, silver, and gunmetal dial and a unidirectional bezel. Another model, a smaller one at 48mm, has a silver, blue, and red dial and a stainless steel case.Created by George Lucas, Star Wars is one of the biggest film franchises of all time, a pop culture phenomenon that started out as a film franchise, beginning in 1977 with Episode IV: A New Hope, and then continued to expand with more films and other media such as comic books, TV series, video games, and more recently, a theme park attraction.

At some point, May the Fourth became globally recognized as Star Wars Day and nearly as impossible to ignore as any other holiday. At least you're not forced to go gift shopping and rather only need to endure the pun on the film's famous "may the Force be with you" line: "May the Fourth be with you." Netizens will also be presented with other movie references and merchandise, which is fun for the classic franchise's many fans.Of course, there is also merchandise like clothing, watches, and accessories—it holds the Guinness World Record for “most successful film merchandising franchise.” The film series’ watch merchandise and collaborations with watchmakers continue to enjoy popularity today, especially after the releases of the new Star Wars movies in recent years. Most of the Star Wars smartwatch band collection is made from a high-quality UV- and sweat-resistant silicon. Your wrist and smartwatch will stay dry, even if you're dueling with Anakin on Mustafar with your Obi-Wan band. Specialty Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Rebel Alliance logo options are available in handcrafted vintage leather.

Swiss watchmaker Oris is known for its mechanical watches. The band released two limited-edition Star Wars watches, featuring two characters: Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. One popular model is the Citizen Luke Skywalker watch, which has a stainless steel case, a brown aluminum bezel, and a sleek brown leather strap. On the beige dial are subtle features that pay homage to the character: an embossed stamp of the Imperial Window, a Rebel Alliance symbol, and blue and green colors on the hands and stitches on the strap, representing Luke’s lightsaber. This is powered by Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology, so it does not require charging or batteries. There have been failures like the Google Glass and Snap Spectacles, and hopeful attempts like Oppo's Air Glass and Apple's secretive project, but the Razer Anzu smart glasses take a different spin on the wearable device by designing them for indoors. While they come with polarized sunglass lenses, their clear lenses are more useful with their blue light filter, which protects your eyes from screen glare to prevent discomfort even after hours of playing video games or working from home. The smart glasses, which also have a built-in omnidirectional microphone and speakers, may also be more comfortable to wear for an extended period of time compared to headsets and headphones. You'll enjoy smooth, stutter-free sound with the Razer Anzu's low latency audio with a 60ms Bluetooth connection.Related: The Best Apple Watches of 2023 MobyFox's Star Wars smartwatch bands are compatible with all Apple Watch models, such as the SE and Series 8, and any Android, Samsung, or Fossil watches with a 22mm pin. While the bulk of the collection is available for Apple Watches, only a handful of designs will work with your Samsung watch, like the Galaxy Watch 5, or Android-based device.
