He was absolutely hooked and totally invested in the outcome. I loved the dynamic that developed in the group. Everyone had to play their part, but Sin was undoubtedly the head of the family. Secrets are revealed and many mysteries are introduced. This story was raw, dark and intriguing. Honestly this series is so amazing and engaging so far and I can’t wait for the next book! This book was equal parts the romance between Scar and Breeze and the continuation of the family's story that started with Ruin. There is something about them, all of them, that will have you rooting for them. The loyalty they share, the fierce way they protect each other, the determination to figure out ANY WAY to keep their family together - heartwarming and emotional.

Ella's ready to move on to university and claim as much freedom as possible, but the only way she can get out from under her abusive uncle's guardianship before she's thirty is if she gets married. Who better than her brother's best friend, a man who rescued her once and still sets her heart on fire each time they meet? Book Genre: Adult, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance, Dark, M F Romance, Romance, Romantic SuspenseJolie, you good? The newest series from Jolie Vines, Dark Island Scots, is a departure from her Highlander-loving Scotsmen of her earlier series, and it’s exciting and compelling. Now, for three books, she has enticed her readers with a prolonged storyline, wrought through plot ups and downs. That she compels her readers to dive into the books of this series is a testament to her capacity to keep her readers engaged. There is just something intriguing about her characters, Struan, Sin, Scar, and Burn. This found family that is actually blood-related pulls you into the story. However, it’s the running plot through the stories that drives readers forward. By the end of Scar, the newest story, there is no telling where the overarching story is going. We left with three complex heroes finding love amid the chaos of their lives. Woven into the fabric of this series is a delectable dark erotic spirit. Hero (Marry the Scot #3) by Jolie Vines is a slow burn, new adult, contemporary highlander romance told in first person, dual POV. Although it's the third book in the Marry the Scot series, it can be read as a standalone. I'd recommend reading the entire series though, because each book contains a wonderfully well-written love story and the characters reappear in future books. As an very big fan of Jolie her books I had the opportunity to read the ARC of HERO, and oh my gosh 😍

I know this review is all over the place, but that's the way this book left me feeling... my emotions are all over the place. I'm so happy for Scar and Breeze, I love that she fit so perfectly with his family. But I'm so anxious about Burn and Cassie and I don't see how this little group of misfits is going to get a happy ever after for their family. My favorite scene is after we hear Camden's story, from his own mouth, and this was his realization: In a short space of time, I'd gone from wanting her desperately to needing her completely. I didn't know shite about love, but I knew a lot about my heart. I was falling in love with Breeze. Scars book is next out in November so we'll have to wait a few months to uncover more secrets and I'm sure more unanswered questions will arise! My heart was pumping hard all through this story. It was dark, gritty, and hot as hell. I loved how Camden and Breeze's connection developed and their natural instincts to trust one another. I loved the closeness of Camden and his family, and how they were all working together to find their missing loved ones, whilst treasuring the familial bonds they had already created. Honestly, I can't wait for the final book! This series is intriguing, twisty and seriously sexy! Thoroughly recommend it! True.” Grabbing her hand, he pulled her closer and leaned across the counter. “Now give me some of those germs.”The opening of this book is tense and so many questions. Ferry on a rainy day, English girl find a Scottish boy chain to rail in the rain and NO ONE makes a comment and when her dad has a few whiskies he says there Darkness on this Island...no spoilers Set during a single snow party, the story revolves around three different characters, as they come to find each other. Looking at the interplay between the three, it sees them all coming together, as the two men, Blayne and Brodie, find themselves with Casey. Sharing their passion together, Casey has come from America to find these Scottish men, making for a passionate romance. Will they all form a relationship as one? Can they find each other at the end of it all? How will they deal with that one stubborn spark? best friend's younger sister is surely a knee-jerk reaction to his problems. He should walk away, yet Excuse me.” The female half of the eavesdropping couple took a step closer to the counter. “Are there any more of those scones?” I really enjoyed this third installment in Jolie Vines’ Marry the Scot series. The hero of this book is Gordain, younger brother of Callum, the male lead in book one. He’s also the tattooed helicopter pilot best friend to James from book two... That is the installment that laid the groundwork for this romance. It is where Gordain met James’ younger sister, Ella, and helped her escape from the clutches of her evil uncle Richard.
