In the original Fun Pub stories, Shattered Glass Optimus's pre-Prime name was Optronix, a name which originated from Dreamwave's Transformers comics. Meanwhile, as is often the case in Transformers media, IDW's SG Optimus started out as Orion Pax. Though he changed his name, upon successfully conquering Cybertron, Optimus Prime dubbed his territory 'Pax'. Great Offscreen War: The Great War in this continuity is over by the time of the start of the series with the Decepticons having lost and Cybertron being divided between Optimus Prime, Goldbug, and Prowl. Adaptational Badass: In Fun Pubs Shattered Glass, Prowl was basically a non-entity, while Goldbug spent much of the latter parts of the series acting as The Starscream to Rodimus Prime, with about as much success. In this world, both of them have successfully taken territory for themselves and are described as warlords in their own right. Originally known as Optronix, Optimus Prime was obsessed with obtaining knowledge. Unsatisfied with his low position in society, he gained power through treachery and the ideology of conquest. Those who agreed with Optronix joined forces with him and severed ties with the old government of Cybertron to become autonomous-as a result, they took the name Autobots. Optronix was the first to begin upgrading himself to become more powerful, keeping the most powerful features for himself as he passed the knowledge on to his minions. Eventually, the group declared war on the rest of Cybertron, destroying any who refused to submit to their goals. During this period, Optimus Prime received a startling revelation that permanently damaged his sanity. He also banished the Old One, an aged Transformer had once served him as an advisor but whom he came to hold in contempt. Fortunately for Cybertron, a group of resistance fighters emerged to challenge Prime's reign: the Decepticons, a group of Transformers named for their ability to transform into vehicle modes and thus hide in plain sight. Their leader, the noble Megatron became Optimus' nemesis, particularly after Optimus managed to acquire transformation technology for his Autobots.

Bounty Hunter: The bodyscrappers are these. Since the Decepticons are pretty much finished as an organized resistance and the Autobot Warlords (Goldbug, Prowl and Optimus Prime) are busy skirmishing with each other over territory, it's fallen to them to hunt down the few surviving Decepticons. Blurr has taken up this profession following the end of the war since his original function of scout became redundant once the Autobots won. While working on his Transhuman subjects, Side Burn cautioned them that they didn't want Ratchet working on their upgrades. The Autobot medic had a habit of getting...experimental with his patients. Coalescence Just thinking about all those people who said victory felt hollow when it was attained... what a bunch of idiots they were." Rodimus returned to Cybertron's surface just as it began to reconfigure itself into Primus's robot form. This change caught Nova Prime unaware; confronting his former commander, Rodimus retook his title as "Rodimus Prime" and freed his captured troops, evacuating the planet. But when Primus called upon Rodimus for help during his fight against his "sister" and fellow planet-bot Gaea, Rodimus refused outright, leaving Primus to be blown to bits by his opponent. The Future Buried... Megatron using math to predict future trends is based on psychohistory from Isaac Asimov's Foundation series of novels, [5] but if we wanted to be cynical about it, we'd probably point out that it's more likely inspired by its then-recent importance in Marvel's Civil War crossover, wherein Mister Fantastic's usage of psychohistory defined his character arc in the event.

This mold was also used to make the rather-similar-looking Gentei! Gentei! Wildrider and Timelines Side Burn. Noodle Incident: Breakdown tells Raf that he would’ve spent time in a Decepticon brig if he didn’t join them. Boisterous Weakling: Bumblebee is an arrogant, pompous braggart who believes himself to be one of the best warriors among the Autobot ranks. In truth, however, he's just a wimpy scout who doesn't pose much of a threat to the Decepticons.Adaptational Wimp: In the first issue, Blurr is shown delivering Sixshot's dismembered corpse to Ratchet. Befitting a character normally portrayed as a One-Man Army, Shattered Glass Sixshot is easily killed. He's even coloured like a Red Shirt! Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Arcee and Cliffjumper, immoral mercenaries they are, love no one else but each other.

Before he was known as Optimus Prime, he is sometimes an archivist known as Optronix, and other times a Senator called Orion Pax. The Fighting Narcissist: Starscream outright calls himself vain and takes great pride in his looks but he's shown to be a very competent and intelligent warrior. Infodump: Volume 1 has regular exposition speeches by the Cybertronian characters, though to be fair, it's the volume that has to set everything up and convey to the viewers what the characters are all about. Volume 2 and 3 get better with this, keeping the exposition more organic by having it conveyed through conversations. He is bundled with Shattered Glass Ratchet, and was revealed on the September 8 TransformersTuesday. Much like most 2020 Selects product, the toy is only branded as part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy and not Earthrise.Transformers: Shattered Glass is a comic book from IDW Publishing released in summer of 2021. The series is written by Transformers newcomer Danny Lore, with art by Dan Khanna and Guido Guidi, and colors by John-Paul Bove. The series is a reboot of the fan-favourite Transformers: Shattered Glass universe that began with Fun Publications in 2008. Accessories: blaster, 2 missile launchers, 7 armor/car carrier pieces, Energon sword, Energon axe (combines to form Terminus Blade), Matrix of Leadership, alternate head In the aftermath, Rodimus was reported to have fled to the Skuxxoid Cluster, a hiding place that Galvatron noted was rather in character for him. The Starscream: While the named Starscream is genuinely loyal to the Decepticons, Ultra Magnus once tried to usurp power from Optimus after nearly killing him, and it appears that Strongarm seeks to oppose the former as well out of loyalty to the latter. Ultra Magnus himself also still hasn't given up on overthrowing Optimus. Bulkhead is the chief of mining operations for the Hyperion crew who only works for the Autobots out of necessity and could care less about the Autobot cause or functionism. Later chapters show that he may not have even been given a choice in joining thanks to being Shadowplayed by Slipstream.Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: The Quintessons are notorious for enslaving mechanoid races like the Cybertronians for their own benefit. The Autobots, as per usual in Shattered Glass. They're a faction brimming with Fantastic Racism and adhering to a Fantastic Caste System, seeing a Cybertronians' worth purely in their altmode and thinking of every other race as inferior at best. Galvatron was later given a briefing on the doings of his villainous counterpart and Rodimus, noting it was very in character for the latter to hide in the Skuxxoid Cluster. Divination Recordicons This mold was also used to make Timelines Scourge, and was also retooled into Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus.
