But then I started to realize that the project had become more of the strangers' project than mine, you know? Whit still very much hates Summer for what she represents, the breakdown of his family yet Summer yearns for the darkness that only he seems to match. when Summer gets there, she's judged and targeted because of her mother's status, and what happened to her step-father and step-brother.

Summer’s mother had an affair with Augustus Lancaster, Whit’s father, ruining his parents’ marriage (😀) and so he hates her. He was no simpering fool and the way he talked about Summer was like she was his favorite toy jsdhkdsjds. She experimented and had her fun, was even suspended for getting caught having sex in school too when she was acting out from her broken home and lack of affection from her mom. Unlike her brother, Sylvie didn't have an issue with Summer and they become close friends pretty quickly. if you thought Summer had some doormat tendencies, then you'll think Augustus is the doormat king 🚪👑.

Girl has pretty much no backbone nor self-respect throughout the whole 53% that I read of this book. The men in this book - special mention to the trashiest men to ever exist as characters, because what even? Dearest reader, if you enjoyed this book, I would greatly appreciate it if you left a review on the retailer site you bought it from, or on Goodreads. He bullies her, degrades her, hates her so much, yet she’s all he can think about and she can’t stay away either.Summer was molested and raped by her stepbrother, YATE, and all Summer said in her pov was, "I enjoyed it a bit! His actions were pretty much justified with his daddy issues and family drama and I fucking hated that. What I’m saying is this story could’ve gone on forever like one of those sweeping sagas that were so popular in the ‘80s. Like sure it is an explanation why he’s such a dick but definitely not an excuse and therefore his actions shouldn’t be tolerated like that! He in his own way always pushed her to be confident, saving her life not once but twice (beat up both elliot and bryan), challenging her every move, and liberating her sexually.

while Whit beats the shit out of someone who tried to attack Summer, she's jammin' to "Streets" by Doja Cat. As long as there is someone sending a note, the project will keep on going until the last note is received. yes, he did make changes in his life, like standing up to his mother and father about what he wanted. and fyi them both(but especially whit) had no character development AT ALL, even at the end of the book.A stunning reminder of the role of art in a time of personal and global unrest, Things You Wanted to Say But Never Did shows how when we speak of our own pain, we can find and offer healing.

Edit: Watched a review on this book and there was in fact NO grovelling throughout the entire course of the story. they only have shared experiences and shared sentiments, so they bond over the fact that they're "broken souls"🖤.Both of them don't ignore the chemistry and attraction between them, so after he finds her diary book, he makes her do things he wishes, and she will do because she has her dark secrets in them, and from here everything begins.
