A brilliant album and one that not only captured Pulp at their absolute peak but is also one of the most important recordings ever submitted to wax in British music history. The seediness, the wink and nudge as well as the many references to taste, society and above all class make this album an essential social document of sorts and as a consequence it could be argued that their legacy is every bit as important in defining Englishness as are groups like Fairport Convention, Pentangle et al. The vinyl has signs of wear and sizzles in quiet parts, there's a hairline on each side, but it runs through cleanly. The cover has two taped tears on the right side so it is VG, the optional covers are in excellent condition (NM), the inner sleeve is VG+ , just a little seam split on one side, light ringwear and bumped corners – so all in all VG+. Please ask for pics. Will come with plastic outer sleeve and in new padded antistatic inner sleeve to preserve the ois. Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. right part of the front aperture cover is torn , rest is a proper Vg+. All cards, inner sleeve and pink insert. Cover with bumped corner. Support is strong VG+. Plays great. Please ask for pictures Hi - these coasters are great. Just like the description (maybe the dimensions could be provided, but I don't think it's an issue). It's a different way of honouring a favourite band and I'm very pleased with them.

Organ [Farfisa Compact Professional II Organ], Keyboards [Ensoniq ASR 10], Synthesizer [Korg Trident II], Synthesizer [Minimoog], Electric Piano [Fender Rhodes Piano], Synthesizer [Roland Juno 6, Roland SH-09] – Candida Doyle In 1995, Britpop was at its peak, and there was the infamous battle between Oasis and Blur. I often think of Pulp as being ‘outside’ of Britpop, as the music seemed so much smarter and a bit too cool in its own way for such a scene. Thinking about it, and I guess one has to class Different Class as Britpop. Before coming to an article that argue Different Class helped define the scene, I want to quote from Pitchfork’s review of Different Class from 2016: When Pulp released Different Class in October 1995, it was at the peak of the Britpop era – less a cultural movement and more a label the music press had slapped on a collection of disparate (though mostly white, guitar-based) British bands infiltrating the charts in the mid-90s. What started as a celebration of the British music industry reasserting its influence after a few years dominated by the US grunge scene had morphed into something of a media bandwagon.

Will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. If you have not experienced Different Class, then I think it is a good investment on vinyl - and it is one of those albums that you will return to time and time again. For those of us who were around in 1995, I think this Pulp masterpiece really changed the game and provided so much pleasure. It was an album that I was very attached to, and my respect for Sheffield’s Pulp raised significantly! An article in COMPLEX from 2015 discusses the importance of Different Class in the Britpop movement: I absolutely love this candle, it smells gorgeous and made the last week of my thesis writing much more bearable.
