Introducing a new version of iConnectivity's Auracle control software: taking the simplicity of workflow that the original Auracle introduced but now with the added deep configuration functionality that iConnectivity are known for. All the deep configuration options you asked for: MIDI merging, filtering, remapping, and deep routing are all there and super easy to use. Use your 22 network MIDI ports anyway you want. Connect each of the 22 RTP-MIDI sessions to any combination of physical or virtual I / O ports. Almost any combination is possible. We just love this thing! It's so versatile and easy-to use. You can control all your instruments from one keyboard or several keyboards, depending on what sounds best for any given situation. There's also presets that allow you to save time by loading different ways of tweaking tone quality with ease. It makes life easier when you have options like these at your fingertips. This USB MIDI Interface is a perfect tool for musicians who want to be able play their favorite songs on any instrument they have without having an extra computer. This interface comes with onboard presets, making it easy and fun. When it works, it works; offers extraordinary routing options and opportunities. The hardware feels solidly built and touch-screen adjustment make the smallish display surprisingly versatile. There's a generous amount of physical input & output and my studio still has room to grow even with all the DIN & USB gadgets connected. It's not cheap but it certainly seems good value for money.

Ethernet connectivity means MIDI is on the network wherever you need it. Regular USB connectivity limits you to keeping your interface within 15ft of your computer. Ethernet connectivity gives you up to 330ft / 100m connection between you and your interface. Drop an interface in every room of your studio, or place an interface virtually anywhere in a venue. With the Mio's you really create a Midi Network. It's actually a router that allows everything to talk to everything. How game changing is that? New to mioXL : store and recall up to 32 presets directly on the interface, without even needing a computer!Odd that the four output ports on the front panel are not visible to the computer. You get the first 8 and that's it. MIDI Management - Our interfaces deliver MIDI reliably no matter what. When the MIDI data-stream gets heavy, our interfaces plough on where other interfaces choke. The iConnectivity mioXL USB MIDI Interface is a sleek and stylish device that's perfect for musicians on the go. The crisp OLED display gives you access to all your instrument settings, while its plug-and play feature means there are no drivers or installation necessary. Names of port categories have been revised to be both clearer and closer to what was used in iConfig and Auracle.

Connect all your MIDI devices (USB-MIDI, DIN-MIDI, RTP/Network-MIDI) and Mac, PC, and iOS computing devices to each other, and let this rugged, versatile interface put you in control of your MIDI devices and workflow. It wasn't until I experienced a very capable IConnectivity employee who owns and uses many of their products struggle over 6+ hours to enter data into various columns of two pieces of software (Auracle plus network sessions in Audio Midi Setup) and *still* not get it fully connected that I realized it isn't just me: this is one *ridiculously* complex & arcane setup process if one wants to use the midi over ethernet functions. Even for standard USB & midi routing Auracle seems to me a denser and less intuitive piece of software than many. Spending the time to set it all up carefully really paid off. Drawing diagrams with MIDI channels, filtering points, etc, was very helpful. Now I can send and receive to/from every device I own without re-patching. mioXL’s OLED display and encoder wheel gives you a crisp clear way of monitoring MIDI traffic, viewing, and selecting presets.

iConnectivity mioXL Overview

Performance and stability bugfixes going across both platforms. This includes firmware loading, RTP connections, and device discovery. Connect all your MIDI devices (USB-MIDI, DIN-MIDI, RTP / Network-MIDI) and Mac, PC, and iOS computing devices to each other, and let this rugged, versatile interface put you in control of your MIDI devices and workflow. I absolutely hate the fact that they changed the 10x10 DIN port arrangement from the mio10 to the 8x12 setup on the mioXL. They say this was due to customer/market research and "what people wanted" but I never heard or saw anything like that and given that a lot of people want to be able to use editors/librarians with their gear, a full pair of in AND out ports are kinda important there... Because of that I don't use any of those last 4 output ports anyway, and hence the reason I still have two mio10s in my setup - those two units are physically placed in locations where I need that full 10 DIN pairs...GRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Having the onboard USB hub has been invaluable though. The iConnectivity mioXL USB MIDI Interface is a revolutionary device that will change the way you think about sound. For years, musicians have been limited by their instruments and equipment as it pertains to what they can produce on stage or in the studio because of how far away those things were from each other physically. Now with this new interface linking your house full-on original instrument up wirelessly so both musician AND listener become partakers. Once happy with the 3 layers. I used my Pyramid Sequencer and a Keystep to work out a basic chord progression, sequence it and then record it.

With mioXL you're able to streamline and expand your MIDI setup, no matter how massive and demanding. Even though it's iConnectivity's most powerful MIDI interface, mioXL is still accessible to all users, allowing you to do whatever you want with MIDI faster, better, and in creative and exciting new ways. The iConnectivity mioXL USB MIDI Interface is a powerful interface for any singer-songwriter or composer. It features deep configuration options through updated Auracle software, which makes it easy to use and streamline your workflow on the go. Simply drop a mioXL or mioXM anywhere you have physical MIDI I/O, run an Ethernet cable from each device to an Ethernet switch, connect the switch to your computer and BAM! Everything can talk to everything else! At any rate... I've never been bowled over by a product like this before. I was expecting teeth-pulling and frustration. This is an incredibly well-engineered product, and I have no compunctions against telling you that you SHOULD buy this before ever considering MOTU. MOTU doesn't even let you rename device names in their Windows software, and more than one review online talks about how MOTU's "technical support" tends to be "throw away your PC and buy a MAC." Making it possible to streamline and expand your MIDI setup, no matter how massive or demanding. With all its advanced capabilities mioXL still remains accessible for anyone looking at doing whatever they want with music in creative ways. This is because of the simple interface that makes using these features fast and easy. The iConnectivity mioXL USB MIDI Interface is a networkable, eight-in/twelve-out interface and hub that can be used with your computer or tablet. It's perfect for people who want access to all of the latest music production software without having another device plugged into their system.

Network connections offer some significant advantages over USB, for example. Cat5/6 cables allow for huge connection distances; over 90 meters between devices! Compare that with 15 metres for DIN-MIDI and only 5 meters with USB and it’s clear to see the advantages for studio and stage. To their credit, IConnectivity offers very communicative, robust support system staffed with people who really seem to know their stuff. ETA: My brain was misremembering on the Mio10 - USB 1-4 is a port to DAW while 5-10 were a single port in the DAW.

What's in the box

Easily store and recall unique MIDI routing, filter and merging setups to preset scenes, and recall them all directly via the mioXL™ front panel. Addition of channels for AUDIO4c routing configurations. Stream is revised to be only stereo channels for compatibility with streaming software.
