I’ll be honest, i guessed the 2 layers paints as none of the photos available are high enough quality to see the names – and GW has a lot of greens!

Liber Hereticus is your Undivided choice. This gives you both Lethal Hits and Sustained Hits 1 when you make a Dark Pact, rather than choosing one. This isn’t flashy, but is useful. So, that’s a fairly solid saving for these models. i suppose it depends how hngry you are for more?

The set comes with seven sprews included on them, ten chaos space marines, one chaos lord, and one Chaos Hellbrute. The models come unpainted and unassembled. This allows for full customization of the models. You can assemble and paint them to look any way you want. You can use any paint and customize the looks of your model to your personal preference. If you want your models to be purple they can be purple nothings stopping you from making them into your own image. You can also even follow 40k lore and customize them to one of the many legions of the chaos army. The only limit is your imagination. There is more to these models than just customization. So you’ve got your Start Collecting! set and a copy of Codex: Space Marines with which to field them, but where next? Well, they’re all Vanguard Space Marines so why not continue that theme with your new additions? Traitor Guardsmen return as your “slightly more durable than Cultists” objective holders, gaining the Twisted Defence Force rule to always have cover while on an objective.

The three Vanguard Space Marine units are all designed to level accurate fire on enemies. The Infiltrators, once deployed can fire with their Markmanship Bolt Carbines. Rapid Fire allows the unit to double its shots, so the 10-man squad can fire 20 rounds, which automatically hit and wound on rolls of a 6. Off The Shelf articles are unboxing and preview articles and shouldn't be taken as a full review of the product. Shadowspear Unboxing Eternal Hate (1CP) will help shore up melee matchups. Roll a d6 each time a model in your unit dies during that Fight phase; on a 4+ (3+ for Khorne units), that model will fight before being removed. A Lord Of Skulls fighting on death on a 3+ is hilarious. The Obliterators are twisted mutations of organic weapons. They are armed with Fleshmetal guns that have random characteristics. At the start of each shooting phase, three D3 are rolled to determin the Strength (roll plus 6), AP and Damage of the weapons. Each Obliterator can fire 6 shots a turn, so even rolling a 1 for each stat makes them damaging weapons.I’m not going to sugarcoat it – if you’re playing Chaos Space Marines, you’re playing The Bad Guys. Not like the morally ambiguous, could-be-seen-as-the-heroes-depending-on-your-point-of-view bad guys but the Capital V, mustache-twirling villains of the setting. But the upside is that you have some extremely rad models, some cool powers, and look – as the saying goes: “Evil will always win because good is lame.” Army Strengths Besides Abaddon, the Chaos Marines have a few epic heroes to choose from. Here’s a thing to note about the Chaos Space Marine Epic Heroes: Unlike the Space Marines, none of these guys have a Faction keyword save HERETIC ASTARTES, so there are no restrictions on putting them all in the same army. This book used to have crucial rules for the Chaos Legions, but as of the release of the Codex, it’s no longer valid. You can basically skip or ignore it for the purposes of Chaos Space Marines. The one set of rules in it that might still be legal however are the rules for Be’lakor and his army of renown, but it’s likely those rules will no longer be valid after the release of Codex: Chaos Daemons. As with many Warhammer 40k Chaos factions, we’d better start at the beginning with Thousand Sons lore – you’ve got to understand how it started before we see how it’s going… He travels throughout the known galaxy, always seeking to create a new version of the Space Marine – one better, faster, stronger, more adaptable. With the rise of Primaris Space Marines, he may now have all the new material he’ll ever need to twist Chaos Space Marines into new forms, finally perfecting his life’s work.

This saw him embrace Chaos earlier than any of the other Primarchs, leading him to begin seeding traitors throughout his brothers’ legions. It was one of these, Erebus, who oversaw the final corruption of Horus, leading the way to over ten thousand years of endless war. They really stepped up to the plate with Mortal Realms and brought us some models and paints as premium kit. Now (apart for 3 green paints in thje last set) it’s all models from various races. The Master of Executions is the other double-attach character, and he’s got a nasty S7 AP-2 2-damage axe with PRECISION and DEVASTATING WOUNDS. The units he leads re-roll hit rolls against units below starting strength and re-roll wound rolls against units below half strength. Also a solid add. He can get you extra CP by killing characters.Profane Zeal (1CP) lets you reroll 1’s to hit and wound for a unit. If the unit is Undivided, then you get full Hit and Wound rerolls. Priced very well, this is a stratagem you’ll both use often and incorporate a nice target for in your list-building. Forgefiends received a glow-up that will make any Daemon Engine players happy. The plasma went up to S10, and the gatling cannon got 50% more shots (in exchange for losing 1 point of AP). The real benefit is its Daemonic Ordinance rule, which lets it gain Hazardous and Devastating Wounds when it fires. This will add some consistent mortal wound output when you’re firing 12 2-damage gatling cannon shots each turn. That’s why we’ve assembled this overview of the Start Collecting!/Combat Patrol boxes to help you figure out if it’s worth buying the box available for your faction. The entry for each box in this article covers what miniatures are in the box, what the box costs, how much you save by buying the box rather than buying the units/characters in the box separately, and whether any models are exclusive to the box.

Obliterators – This could have been a good option, but they are infantry and the price point isn’t quite right. Oh and lets not forget they aren’t made of plastic. This came to a head at the infamous Council of Nikaea, where psychic powers were banned by Imperial Edict – no Space Marine could ever again use psychic powers, or they would face punishment by the Emperor Himself. If you just want to paint the army, play it casually and have a bit of everything, the models are still very impressive and it’s a good price for such a big variety of units, representing many different tactical aspects of how the army works. There are, of course, many other psychic powers that all have their uses depending on what your strategy is. With 18 to choose from, the Thousand Sons player will never be short of warp mischief to lob around the board. Includes a step-by-step user guide for how to build Start Collecting – Chaos Space Marines, from plastic sprue, through to a completed model which is fully assembled and ready to paint.
