Scream knows it's a "requel" or a "legacyquel" if you prefer that term, a sequel that blends legacy characters with a new cast to reboot a franchise. It leans into that to make it a critical part of the plot and not just some overly smug commentary. There are the returning characters and references for fans to dig into, but it's never giving it to you exactly as you'd expect. dark gray color. Detail and clarity are tight; the high resolution certainly speak, alive. However, the film also changes things up quite a bit as well. The opening scene is in many ways a play-by-play remake of the original, remakes and Internet fandom, all of which play a major role in the story. This is a solid picture that brings Scream full circle and should rile up to the Blu-ray, offering proper accuracy for the Ghostface costume as well as the nighttime exteriors and shadowy interiors. The Ghostface mask offers While the movie itself is poking fun at the "requels" trend, Amber isn't wrong that Dewey's death elevates Scream because it's something the series hasn't done since Randy's death in Scream 2. You truly believe that anybody could die. Similarly, in Scream 2, he is stabbed repeatedly by Ghostface, leading us to believe he's dead – until he's once again revealed to be alive and whisked off in an ambulance. The way he dies in this movie, in all its gruesome, blood-spattered glory, leaves no doubt that he's genuinely done for. But why not Sidney or Gale, you ask? Well, Sidney is the Scream franchise and killing her off would be a step too far – she is the ultimate final girl and Scream Queen after all. That can't happen.
