Don't take too much, you can spend too much time deciding what to look at and with binoculars the idea is they are wide field and so you scan lots of the sky. Some mention that they are easy to carry around their neck and simple to use yet, while others say that they're a little heavy and emphasized by the narrow strap. They are one of the finest pieces of soviet optics and are very sharp on axis with a huge sweet spot. The focus knob is situated between the two barrels and enables you control the focus for both the barrels synchronously. The far corners lose some sharpness but since the image is so large my eyes never go anywhere near the edges so all I see is a perfectly sharp image.

It's cloudy so I won't be able to see any stars tonight, but I did test looking into a pocket torch on a black background, and it really wasn't bad. Just start off by, naturally, matching what you see on the printed page to whatever is clearly on the sky, by recognising the most conspicuous constellations first (which IMO, on early evening at the moment would be Ursa Minor, Cassiopeia and its "W" shape, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Corona Borealis, to name a few) along with essy-to-spot bright stars, such as Arcturus, in Bootes, Vega in Lyra and Altair in Aquila, Polaris.

They don't feel as well made as other more expensive binoculars, the focus wheel isn't as "fast" as other binoculars and the eye cups don't come close enough together for some users BUT for the money the quality is excellent. The Pentax is lighter and has a much smaller field of view, although the size of the very sharp sweet spot is about the same. quality finish and extra wide field of view of 65 degrees, the DPS I series let you discover the expansive nature around you with ease. The units are finished in matte black, thereby reducing reflection off the surface so as not to startle the subject being observed. You cannot see every single thing in the country, learn every custom, go to every event, try every food, and meet every person.

The bokeh (out of focus area) behind the in focus subject is nicely separated and smooth which helps make the subject stand out.

Very happy, and come to find out another friend of mine owns the same set and he is happy with it as well. Your feedback is important to us, your review about this product will be revised by our experts and will be published within 5 working days.

Likewise, if you keep them in your car and take them to a sporting event (motorsport, horseracing, etc) then they're perfect.ScouseSpaceCadet has mentioned my recommendation of the Opticron T WP - astonishingly good value, and waterproof! Keep an eye on Perseus as well as the peak is later but they are meteors at this time, and Perseus is easy to locate. They still can be hand held but they provide enough light grasp and magnification to provide some good views of the night sky as well as birds and other things terrestrial. The strap problem is easily solved, I always attached PeakDesign connectors to my cameras and binoculars so I can use comfy wide PeakDesign straps with them, this helps spread the weight around your neck but if you are looking for a pair of travel binoculars, look elsewhere.

Featuring durable high‑quality finish and extra wide field of view of 65° the DPS I Series let you discover the expansive nature around you with ease. In regards to getting to know the sky, I think you're starting on the right foot, with the 10x50 plus star charts. If I’m honest for general viewing these are probably a bit big for my needs (albeit very bright and sharp) - the 8x40’s are lighter and capable however for distance viewing these are superb.

My heart fancies what were the LUnt 10x50 now APM but its a lot of money that the wallet does not hold presently. You can see a lot with less than ideal binoculars, a cheaper pair used will see more starlight than a premium pair stuck in a closet, as the OP seems to be on a tight budget I say get the Olympus ones and save for a better pair down the road, I have a low cost 10x50 from Opticron, they look very similar to the Olympus, possibly from the same far Chinese factory, they work fine, as good as my Nikon Action Ex,s?
