KitGuru Says: The Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO is superb and may well be the best case of 2022 (and it's still 2021).

Overall, maybe we're overthinking it. The O11D EVO's prime customers are show-system builders who regularly blow their PCs out with compressed air. You could possibly boost the case's practicality by using higher-flow fans on the bottom or ignoring the side radiator mount, but, after all, we're looking at a case that can support more drives than most people own. For builders who use the side drive mount instead of radiators, this chassis could be the best of both "show-off" and "storage." Overall, the Lian Li O11D EVO PC Case has a sleek and modern design. The main structure is manufactured with stainless steel whilst the exterior panelling is either brushed aluminium, mesh, or tempered glass. Contributing to the smooth aesthetic, the power button wraps around two edges of the chassis, whilst the reset and RGB buttons remain on the side. This incredible case is available in three colours, with this model being the white version. Inside and out, this PC case has a clean and bright style, with silver screws to prevent interrupting the look. RGB LED Strip The final two accessories are PCIe riser cables for alternative orientations for your graphics card. Flexible Hardware All-In-One Affordable, easy to install, maintenance-free liquid cooler with class-leading performanceWe loaded the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO with 620W of gaming hardware and it performed superbly. While we expected the Mesh front panel would help performance it actually made very little difference. When you consider we had fans in the floor, side, roof and rear of the case, perhaps it shouldn't have come as much of a surprise that the front panel did not act as a restriction. Thermally the EVO is a masterclass in how to do things right. Closing Thoughts On paper the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO appears to have changed very little from the original O11D. You can now install a 280mm radiator in the side location and there are mounts for nine storage drives, rather than six. As you will see in our video, the devil very much lies in the detail as you can flip the case from right hand to left hand and can also install a range of accessories that include two different GPU mounts. The EK-Quantum Reflection² PC-O11D EVO D5 PWM D-RGB is a custom water cooling reservoir, routing, and pump solution that seamlessly fits into the front of the case. This waterway is also equipped with four innovative push-in ports that come with female G1/4″ threaded adapters. The idea is that a user can assemble the whole radiator + fittings and use these push-in adapters to simply slide it into the distro plate.

Engineered to be mounted on the front window of the O11D EVO case, the EK-Quantum Reflection² PC-O11D EVO D5 PWM D-RGB fits elegantly within the LIAN LI O11D EVO chassis. The front no longer has a stainless steel plate covering the pump; instead, it is now a single piece of see-through acrylic. To put this case through its cooling paces we will be using a test system consisting of an Intel Core i9-12900K CPU, Sapphire RX6800 XT graphics and an SSD. This system allows us to produce a substantial amount of heat and effectively test the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO‘s cooling capabilities. The evolution continues, with the Lian Li O11D EVO PC Case. Taking modular to the next level, this mid-tower chassis can be configured to one of two modes – Normal or Reverse. On top of this, there are multiple positions for I/O panel to be placed, and three orientations for your GPU. Choose from horizontal, vertical, or even upright to fully show off your gaming hardware. Thanks to the mesh panels and spacious interior, airflow has been maximised to the extreme and there is ample support for either AiO or custom water cooling. Plus, with its intelligent dual-chamber design, cable management is easy and the interior will stay looking sleek. Lian Li O11D EVO PC Case White at a Glance: Fan mounts: 3x 120mm/2x 140mm side, 3x 120mm/2x 140mm roof, 3x 120mm/2x 140mm bottom, 1x 120mm rear If you opt for the front mesh panel and upright GPU, then the Lian Li O11D EVO is going to have phenomenal airflow. With a fine mesh, these panels have been optimised for thermal performance as well acting as dust filters. The upright GPU allows unprecedented and direct airflow to the graphics card and CPU, that can be further boosted by three 120mm fans. Alternatively, the upright GPU placement also allows for amazing customisation for water cooling. Simpler and more efficient tubing can reach hardware without restriction, which in turn helps the radiators to perform more effectively.

In terms of voltage-regulator temperature, the O11D EVO again barely trails the fan-equipped gaming cases... The glass side of the O11D EVO is slightly quieter than the Cooler Master's, while the vented side is slightly noisier. Both fall within earshot of the quiet-design Seta Q1, while the Corsair gets penalized for having more powerful fans than either the HAF 500 or Seta Q1. The O11 is designed for more than just adding a few fans, though. We'd recommend a more elaborate build with three 120mm intake fans on the bottom, since that's where the dust filter is located, plus some kind of radiator and fan combo on the top to aid in voltage-regulator cooling. The good news is that the core chassis is very good indeed and allows you to build a high end PC that is fairly conventional and which functions well. The case is not especially large and has excellent thermals along with very good cable management.
