Description

The story begins with Clementine walking through the woods after her departure from the school. After a close encounter with a group of zombies, she slips in a gap, breaking her prosthetic leg in the process. I'm keeping this spoiler-free because, frankly, I don't care about this story enough to give it that—a full-fledged review. Because I'm tired, and it's evident to me that this whole thing is a mere cash-grab on Skybound's part, and that Tillie was hired for something out of her element. Holmes, Jonathan (July 5, 2020). "The Walking Dead creator hints at Clementine's return". Destructoid . Retrieved July 18, 2020.

The fact that there are only three other people -- all teenage girls -- at the hideaway immediately raises Clem's suspicions, but Amos is intent on working hard and helping out. But as one disaster after another strikes, emotions run high, leading almost inevitably to betrayal. Powerhouse creator TILLIE WALDEN takes on the world of ROBERT KIRKMAN’s THE WALKING DEAD in the most anticipated YA graphic novel of 2022. As a continuation, it honestly reads as someone's first fanfiction. Clementine doesn't read as Clementine, not through her actions, her characterization—not even her dialogue. Clementine in this book is angsty, but not in a way that is in-character. Season Three's Clementine already showed an angsty Clementine who doesn't trust people: she's more like spitfire than this husk. Now, I get that characters can react to different situations in different ways, but this is the best way for me to explain the gist of my issues with her characterization without spoiling: she doesn't read as Clementine, we've already done this arc, why couldn't we see something, oh I don't know, new?! Disconnected from the overwhelming mythology of 193 issues of comics or 131 hours of television (discounting spinoffs in both genres), The Walking Dead games were more compact, more urgent. There wasn’t a lot of room for straying from the most powerful and concise narratives, characters, or jarring plot developments. In her dream on the train, a young Clementine talks to Lee and asks him "will the pain ever stop", while remembering having to shoot him and remembers Amos.As friendship, rivalry, and romance begin to blossom amongst the group, the harsh winter soon reveals that the biggest threat to their survival…might be each other. The next Skybound Comet releases will be Everyday Hero Machine Boy original graphic novel (Diamond Code MAY218589) from rising star voices Tri Vuong and Irma Kniivila in September 2022, followed by Sea Serpent’s Heir Book One (Diamond Code MAY218588) from acclaimed creators Mairghread Scott ( Star Wars: Resistance, Guardians of the Galaxy) and Pablo Tunica (TMNT Universe) in October 2022. a b c d e f g h i j k l m n Wallace, Kimberley (January 2013). Clementine's design was based on art director Derek Sakai's own daughter. Sakai described her as having "a crazy sense of fashion", selecting beloved clothing items to wear regularly. As such, Clementine was given an iconic baseball hat that serves as her connection to her parents. [3] Sakai provided Vanaman with other advice from his fatherhood, offering that Clementine would appear smarter if she did not say as much, while still pointing out character flaws should one get out of line. [3] Much of the game focuses on changes to Clementine's appearances and personality as she comes to grips with the new reality of the zombie-infested world. At the start of the game, Clementine is wearing a clean white dress, but it becomes dirty and soiled throughout the game, "reflecting her loss of innocence", according to Sakai. [3] So I am not the ideal reviewer of this series for a number of reasons; 1) I am seemingly one of the few comics readers in the world who has not read The Walking Dead (okay, maybe two volumes, then I stopped) nor seen the tv series; 2) I am not a gamer, so have no familiarity with the Telltale Walking Dead video game featuring Clementine, though I have become aware of the controversy about ripping out the hearts of all players who liked how the Clementine game had (previously) ended, and 3) I am not really a fan of zombie comics. TILLIE WALDEN is the future. Her boldly authentic voice brings new heights to the world of The Walking Dead." —ROBERT KIRKMAN Clementine eventually soon wake up and was greeted by Olivia, who told her that they had been saved by Emi. Olivia also reveals to Clementine that she has been unconscious for one month and her legs got infected as well. Olivia takes Clementine in a wheelchair and it was reveals that they are taken to Magdalen Islands, a remote island community led by Anne Morro, an enigmatic doctor. They soon reunited with Ricca where she attended a birthday party. There, Ricca introduces Clementine to the residents of the island, including Emi, John, Amir, Shu-Fen, Ginette, Giles, and Mercy.

I thought that Clementine: Book One was a great book and a wonderful spiritual successor to The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series. I thought that Tillie Walden had a really good understanding of Clementine's character and life in the Walking Dead universe. In the video games, Clementine becomes the guardian of a small child named Alvin "AJ" Junior when she is just 10-years-old. Clementine keeps AJ alive and teaches him to be safe. In the final Telltale game, after years of wandering the road, Clementine and AJ join a community of teenage survivors living at an old boarding school and make a home for themselves there. But when she comes across an Amish teenager named Amos with his head in the clouds, the unlikely pair journeys North to an abandoned ski resort in Vermont, where they meet up with a small group of teenagers attempting to build a new, walker-free settlement. Robert Kirkman's THE WALKING DEAD as 17-year-old Clementine must learn the difference between living and surviving in this intimate, coming-of-age YA
