Description

K. Modify or create derivative works based upon the Software, or decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the Software, in whole or in part; The 200 Series are Boss' most user friendly, but advanced pedal range on the market. It shares the same DSP high definition sound from the 500 Series, but with a more hands-on approach. We've reduced the footprint of the pedal, so you can squeeze it onto the prime realestate on your pedalboard. We have put a mini TRS MIDI connection to allow to you communicate and sync with external gear. Each pedal in the 200 Series has an expression input, allowing you to explore some much more interesting sounds than your usual effects pedals. The 200 Series also comes with a 3 year warranty and lifetime tech support with myself." GAK's Roland/Boss Product Specialist, James Purvis. b) The OSS, etc. in the case of the preceding paragraph shall be subject to the OSS, etc. license (herein referred to as "OSS License"), and you shall comply with the OSS License. This is a legal agreement between you (an individual or a corporation) and Roland Corporation (herein referred to as "Roland") regarding the usage of this software product (herein referred to as "SOFTWARE"). Please read carefully the terms of this License Agreement before installing or using the SOFTWARE. By installing, copying, or starting the use of the SOFTWARE, you hereby consent to the terms of this License Agreement.

The terms of this Section are agreed allocations of risk constituting part of the consideration for Roland’s licensing of Software to You and will apply even if there is a failure of the essential purpose of any limited remedy, and regardless of whether a party has been advised of the possibility of the liabilities. If applicable law prohibits any portion of the limits on liability stated below, the parties agree that such limitation will be automatically modified, but only to the extent required to make the limitation compliant with applicable law. Similar to the Electro-Harmonix Mod11 that I reviewed not long ago, the MD-200 aims to cover all your modulation bases. There’s a lot of crossover with the Mod11, as each features Chorus, Tremolo, Vibrato, Flanger, Phaser, and more. The MD-200 has quite a bit more hands-on control, as there are three Parameter knobs that change function based on mode. Moreover, the Rate knob can alternate between Hz and BPM with a push—a useful touch that makes the MD-200 easy to integrate into electronic rigs.

BOSS MD-200 Modulation Pedal Features:

This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is between the individual consumer or business entity that will use the Software (“You”) and Roland Corporation (“Roland”). The Boss MD-200 features 127 user memories plus a real-time panel setting, giving you 128 total setups to choose from. Any range of consecutive memories and the panel setting can be assigned for scrolling access from a footswitch. It’s also possible to limit the scrolling range or assign memories directly for even faster recall. And if you crave deeper control, setups can be directly recalled via program change messages from an external MIDI device. The flanger mode I can get really close to my old 80's Boss HF-2 but I will keep the HF-2 on the board for the reason stated above as I will be using the loop for my drives to place before or after a preset. On the big board I use a Fulltone Supa-trem 2, I also have a Boss TR-2 and the tremolo mode on the MD-200 can simulate both of those pedal nicely. However if you raise the pedal up with some timber (or whatever) to give it some extra height when stepping over the pedals in front, it is ok. I am taking about slanted boards too. It still needs to be raised up.

If you buy this, you have to update the firmware as soon as you can. The old firmware only allows for 4 saved presets. The firmware update increases the number of presets to 127. HOWEVER: presets 5-127 are only available via Midi. So you need a midi device (like a Boss FS-5U).I have yet to dive in to slicer (probably the most complex of the 11 effects), rotary, tremolo, and vibe.

Third Party Rights. Other than as expressly set out in this EULA, this EULA does not create any rights for any person who is not a party to it, and no person who is not a party to this EULA may enforce any of its terms or rely on any exclusion or limitation contained in it. b) You shall not loan, rent, lease, sublicense or transfer the SOFTWARE, either in whole or in part, to any third party. But you may permanently transfer the SOFTWARE and accompanying printed materials provided you retain no copies of the Software and recipient agrees to the terms of this License Agreement. If the SOFTWARE has been updated or upgraded, any transfer of the SOFTWARE must include the most recent update and all prior versions. Chorus is great. Univibe is pretty good. Overtone is good for just adding a subtle octave up or down (you can do more I'm sure, but I just use the octave down feature w/ the fuzz on the OD200).
