Installation is easy. Just attach the hoses to the filter pump and then to the designated places on the pool structure. Make sure you’re near enough to an outside electrical outlet to plug the pump in and you’re ready to filter your pool water.

In the sand model we review, a pre-screen collects the bigger pieces of unwanted material and you should wash this out daily. However, you only need to replace the sand every few years.

Now a feature I do like is the auto timer lets you set an automatic schedule for the length of time the filter pump comes on from between two hours and 12 hours. This saves you from remembering to switch the pump on and off yourself. Pros Products such as washing detergent, moisturiser, deodorant, make-up, sun lotion or fake tan can cause discolouration. We would suggest showering before using the pool to avoid this. If the problem does occur you can use washing up liquid, stain remover or miracle pads to remove stains or marks.
