The author's descriptions of the various planets and areas within Anarcheim were stunning. I noticed this after reading a couple books in her Condemned series, but she has a way of bringing the setting to life. Much of this book takes place on an icy planet, Abzal, and the descriptions were to die for.

A wonderful Omegaverse mash with aliens plus a fat dose of mafia genre, so different and interesting. While I'm shelving this as dark Omegaverse, this is on the lighter side of dark. There are heavy, dark themes, but Nikolai was not a cruel Alpha like in the darkest Omegaverses. He had his moments, he was certainly an asshole at times, but there was an overarching theme of both MCs learning how to respect and trust each other.
