But overall, the teaching she finds and interprets from this ancient manuscript is thrilling and liberating…surprisingly contemporary with today’s fight for justice on so many fronts. I’ve never felt able to connect myself to any of the patriarchal religious beliefs, wondering how (referring to Christianity here) a man such as Jesus who preached love and peace to all beings could be so out of touch as to not include all people who followed him.
