The sealer I used is rather watery, so I suggest being careful again with your clothing and surroundings (Hence the plastic tarp in the photo) And then I discovered… coffee tables are expensive! And naturally, the coffee tables I want are VERY expensive (see favorites to the left). Panels made of honeycomb inlay framed with chipboard and encased in an MDF shell that is veneered or painted; which reduces weight but increases durability and strength. Fine-Tune Your Style

ACACIA WOOD - Acacia is the hardest of all hardwoods, characterized by high density and resilience. It is resistant to rot, weatherproof, and immune to fungi and insects. Be careful, as you start to connect all of the pieces, some of the angles will get very awkward to screw with a drill!

Once your first coat has been applied, follow the directions on your sealer for waiting to apply another coat (mine was 4 hours before reapplying) Then, I would suggest connecting A and B pieces (see diagram) to create two rectangular “frames” that will sit parallelBuilding the frame requires some basic woodworking skills, but nothing even a beginner can’t do! Begin by centering to two narrower pieces of MDF along parallel sides. They should line up perfectly with the wood frame you built

Pick Out a Shape

Compile the 2×4 pieces and cut to the length for the measurements provided (if you are using the same dimensions as my table) Don’t forget to take the smaller putty knife around the edges while the cement is still soft (SOO SATISFYING TRUST ME) I personally did not need to sand until after the cement was completely dry (likely because I was really meticulous about the smoothness of my cement application), but if you are noticing any sharp spots or more texture than you were looking for, you can sand between coats Now, for the fun & messy part! Make sure that you protect your clothing, floor, and anything this stuff could touch. Also, use protective gear like a mask or gloves to prevent exposure to cement’s toxicity

When you begin to mix the cement, I suggest you do so in moderate portions. This stuff can only be worked with so long before it hardens or becomes clumpy. This step also will be much easier with a helperEASY MAINTENANCE – Our coffee table remains easy to clean and maintain. Wipe the surface down with a clean, damp cloth, or use cleaning products specifically designed for hardwood. However, I will caveat my success with the fact that this was my first ever woodworking project AND my first time working with cement. That being said, I didn’t have all the tools that I have now (that would have made this project MUCH MUCH easier and more precise). STRONG CONCRETE TOP - This table is built with a strong concrete tabletop - sustainable and sturdy, you receive years of enjoyment from this wonderful piece of furniture. Last, you will place the top (largest) piece onto the frame and align it (if everything was measured and cut properly, the top should completely line up with all four sides (satisfying!!)
