One feature of the app which I found odd is the option to edit and add filters to the photos and videos recorded by the Road Angel Halo Pro Dashcam. The front 1440P wide-angled lens along with its unique central positioning can record a large field of view covering a large portion of the road in front of the vehicle. We would like to have seen wider lenses used by the Halo Pro, as 140 degrees is just about acceptable for a front camera, and 120 degrees is a little tight for the rear.

In the age of advanced automotive technology, the Road Angel Halo View Mirror Dash Camera takes centre stage as a guardian on the road, seamlessly blending innovation and functionality. This could actually be very useful if you want to take a quick still image or whatever’s in the camera view at any point. The design is simple but smart, the setup process is fairly straightforward (and, mercifully, doesn’t ask you to create a user account), and both cameras are fairly compact. Particularly from the front camera, I could read a good proportion of plates, even when there was a moderate closing speed between me and the other vehicle.

I was fortunate enough to be able to test the Halo Pro front and rear dashcam package from Road Angel. Dash cams can be expensive devices, particularly if you add a rear-view module, but Road Angel’s Halo Pro seems very reasonable. I would prefer if the dashcam had a button on it to mark videos for saving, but aside from that, the hardware performs flawlessly.I have a phone holder on the dashboard in my car so the cameras were set up and easily viewed by all in the car. The camera itself works very well indeed, recording excellent footage of high quality and containing great detail. I have seen a few dash cams that friends have so I was a little wary as I have always thought they looked a bit clunky and I didn’t think the picture quality was always that great. Our high-quality SD Cards take care of the worry of randomised or sudden loss of power which can often corrupt or damage memory.

Editorial independence means being able to give an unbiased verdict about a product or company, with the avoidance of conflicts of interest. As it doesn’t have a display, the Road Angel Halo Pro is nice and shallow, hugging the windscreen and taking up minimal space.Crystal-clear high-resolution video, perfect detail so if that times comes you can rely on your Road Angel to be your guardian angel! Fixing the camera to the windscreen needs some thought, as once stuck, it isn’t really able to be removed and refitted easily – as it sticks so well! Not sure if this is a faulty device, but I’m having to sacrifice having the mirror wonky and rotated to account for the front cam being aligned.
